You are joking i hope,a nice badge lolstinksmurf wrote: ↑03 Apr 2021, 18:51I`m not sure if Royal mail have stopped giving out long service vouchers/gifts. I had 30 years service in at the end of January 2021. I received my badge, mounted on cardboard, in a cardboard box in mid March but nothing else. A friend of mine who works at a different office also only got a badge.
Anyway, its a nice badge and its better than nothing.

Re: Long service awards scheme advice .
Recieved my little badge for 30 years service about 2 weeks ago with a letter to log in to some site to choose a gift or a voucher for £100. Had quite a few to choose from, just picked Argos meself. Also a rumour of a meal out sometime somewhere! 20 year service meal was brilliant, a day at the races with a sit down meal and free beer. Don't suppose they had share holders to explain that expense to then though!
I do remember years ago a friend of my mums who worked 30years for the John Lewis stores. She got a full year off with full pay!! Amazing! Obviously a rarity for that company to work there that long but a little bit better than our badge!

Please don't get excited if you are coming up to a milestone in your 'career' at Royal Mail.

Thats why I always skip ANY kind of social function where Managers are likely to be present. I just cant trust myself not to have a go at them ... Verbally I hasten to add!

Nice to know I'll have nothing to show for my years of service soon. Maybe I'll get my knee X-rayed and framed to immortalise what I have inadvertantly received for my efforts.

I think the extra annual leave is a decent reward for service.
I’ve always tried to view it that I’d always choose that every year over some one-off gesture.

We used to have a christmas meal where everyone would get together, that was a few years ago now.Bounced_Czech wrote: ↑07 Aug 2024, 13:16
What kind of social functions are you being invited to that involve any of your managers being in attendance?![]()
