Seasonal hours
can anybody give me some advice on this as i cant find anything in the agreement regarding posties on sick , so a postie is on long term sick at the moment and receiving 37 hrs pay which is fine , and the company started the 35 hour week on the 17th June for 11 weeks ( 22 hours ) of which 6 weeks ( 12 hours ) was being paid back from when we worked 39 hours at xmas 2023 and the other 5 weeks ( 10 hours ) which we would pay them back to work 39 hrs at xmas 2024 , so posties that are working 35 hour weeks are receiving there 2 hours a week back for both and being paid 37 hours , so what if you are on sick so you are not receiving or received them hours back ? so would the company owe them the 12 hours for last year and then they would not be expected to work 39 hours this xmas 2024 as well unless they are paid to do so , i have asked the manager he doesnt know i have contacted hr and never got a reply back . any senior reps got the answer . thanks

so im guessing that non of the cwu reps have a clue about an agreement they put forward to there members to accept

I'm not a rep, but I had a horrible flashback to sitting a maths exam when I read through your query. the pay is 37 hrs whilst on sick , so will you be working 35 hrs for 11 weeks for 37 hrs pay ?

Yes . If you are on 37hr contract, all seasonal variations are paid at 37hrs. the only cock up was annual leave when they was taken hours that they shouldnt of , im on about the hours they owe posties from last year 12 hrs which you have had back by working 35 hrs and being paid 37 hrs so you have had your hours back for that , and you have had another10 hours so you will be working 39 hrs at xmas for 37 hrs . do you get what im saying .

Yes I get you, it all balances out over 12 months, dont get me wrong it's a pain, but it does . Think about your weekly hrs,who works 37hrs dead every week? getting them hours back will not balance out and posties that are on long term sick for these 11 weeks will not get them hours back , anyway we will see if its right or not .
