pda route

Post by fallenworld202233 »

had a problem last week, has happened before, just wondering if this happens to other posties, you are on your delivery and on your pda your collection route dissapears off the pda, the delivery route is still there, now before someone says maybe u have canceled the route in your pocket, i had the pda in my hand and i seen my collection boxes on the pda then before you know it went to the route part of the pda page with both route headers without me even pressing anything and i noticed the collection route header had dissapeared meaning i had to retype the code in to get my boxes up again, has anyone else experienced this, as i now know its not me cancelling the route so how does this happen,

No never had that happen, wouldn't be surprised though they seem to be struggling a bit doing anything these days, I'm seeing a spinning circle even when all I've done is scan a parcel.

Yes I have had this happen twice in the last month and was looked at as if I was nuts when I tried to explain that it was there, then it disappeared. So because they just think I failed to scan or something, absolutely no examination of a possible fault happened 🙄🙄

Sometimes the Outdoor app freezes but then immediately restarts of its own volition, reloading the delivery route but not the collection route.

It's a brilliant bit of kit! Don't worry though, we'll be using our own mobile phones within the next couple of years :chuckle

It’s like how they only use our mobile numbers to contact us at work, rather than the pda. It’s the thin end of the wedge. They can get me a mobile if they want it for work use.

Switching off and on again usually works.

Problem is you then lose the collections route and if the bar code isn't in the blue pouch you are stuffed!!

barnacle glad im not the only one, no fault of our own, problem is when u type the code in again the boxes all come up need to go round them all again and scan them again, or is their another option liked failed scan the second time if u already have scanned one of the boxes the first time before the pda played up and deleted the routes, i don't know, doesnt make sense why it deletes itself in the first place, at first i thought its possible have i clicked something, then clear as day this time i actually watched with my own eyes the collection completely dissapear without me even touching the pda screen, just decided to put itself on the screen with the two routes with only one in tact

Had this happen once. They do seem to be struggling recently. Must be jamming them with apps and software so much that they malfunction.

Over the last month we've been told every weekend that the PDA's are getting a "big software fix" on the Sunday.
Every Monday they are slightly worse. About 60 of ours wouldn't load the collection routes at all yesterday, the week before a bunch of them wouldn't let you do anything beyond log in

All PDAs in DOs should have all the MC stuff removed from them as the MC stuff will never be needed in a DO. the delivery stuff does get used once in a while in MCs
