2.0 delivery is when nobody has a set walk, all the walks in the office are basically one walk & you take out bits of everything. They tried it out in smaller offices, now it looks like it’s going nationwide.

Right now - it is much better and getting better by the day...

-Rounds are going back to a fair and reasonable size.

-We actually have close to the correct number of posties we should have to cover each round.

-After previously having 2 years of double mail after coming back from my day off - I haven't had double mail for about 6 months.

The concern is - what do these flip-floppers do next. They'll have some other plan or idea that will come to fruition like delivery 2.0 and it will screw everything once again.
In your office, have they actually taken loops off walks that were made too long to complete within time?

Working at RM has got worse. According to our manager they have targets to try and deliver the mail over 5 days rather than 6. There are still a few posties working their day off to prevent that from happening and on a few duties i.e. ones which need a driver to pair with a non-driver means that their duties are always covered anyway due to shift rotation.... As I regularly have a day off and there's no duty cover I'm often walking in to two days worth of mail at least once a week.

And the other thing I would mention is that our office is unrecognisable from two years ago as a lot of the regulars have left. We have a lot of staff on inferior contracts/pay and the Union are completely powerless to stop it. We have had a few of them go on sick but managers instead of conducting them for sick absence but taken it out of their annual leave instead. I guess they really are that desperate to retain them. :silenced

Thanks to the CWU the job is unrecognisable. Union's a disgrace.

Our office just gets worse every month. This summer overtime ban has left me speechless, no floaters taking the mail out, just doing packets. Pairs split up so one guy does packets on another walk they are not familiar with. you just do packets on your duty as impossible to do both. So you have endless days mail piling up. Everyday is a slog, and this is supposed to be low season

I'm not sure if your post is a joke or not?! It's nothing like that in my office. It was f****d before and a recent revision means it's even more f****d. As a reserve I rarely do single mail. Usually double, triple or quadruple. As long as the tracked gets done it seems nobody cares.

Busiest summer by a country mile. So much mail & packets are never ending. Put in D2D for whole walk yesterday morning & had a quick count up after delivery today - probably around 10% left in frame now. Packets used to flow up & down during the month ie: busy for 2 weeks when people got paid then dropping off for the remainder of the month, now they are just endless. I was getting 100/120 tracked a day Christmas 2023 (singleton duty) & during what is supposed to be low season (or summer lull🤣) I’m on around 80/90 tracked a day. Baring in mind the f..k tarded CWU agreed to seasonal hours we are pretty much under the same pressure now as at Christmas due to said f..k tards agreeing to cut the working day by 24 minutes.

Yes. All rounds have gone back to being a more sensible size again.

It seems nuts that some offices have had duties put back to a decent size when others are still going the other way but I guess that’s the Royal Mail way.
