useless linos

Post by guardianangel »

First thing the new owner should look at to save money is get rid of all these linos on 40k plus spending 3 hours in the morning pushing around yorkes and just stood around chatting and watching people work, the biggest pool of non productive people are these lot of waste of spaces.

They are under-employed.

Need to get them on delivery a few days a week so they can see what’s working and what’s not.

That would make total sense. I’d have more respect for them if they actually personally tested out some of their brain farts.

Unfortunately a lot of them are former posties who couldn't handle deliveries and actually have to work for their wage. They're lazy baskets, not all but mostly the younger age group (35ish), who have come from being (failed) walking posties. Even worse, the majority have only been with Royal Mail a couple of years so know practically f*ck all about running a delivery office. No brains, no people skills, no management experience, use bullying tactics to try and run their offices. Yep get rid of this lot, save a fortune and increase wages for those who actually do work. The managers now offer nothing to Royal Mail, they're as useless as the ones higher up - area managers, the Board. Fortunately, i've now left the sh*t hole but still speak to a lot of my ex colleagues and the tell me its just getting worse. I hope the new guy (if he gets his takeover) comes in with a broom and sweeps the lot of them out. Worrying times for them.

totally agree my lm all he does is watch tik toks and have a laugh with certain members of staff in his office and that's including the DOM also approaching them if you have any concerns falls on deaf ears so basically i don't bother anymore i get the impression the linos don't care once bit.

I work in a different company it seems.
We no longer have DOMs and linos. We have a Customer Operations Manager (well 2)
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

We had a spell of no DOM, which was disastrous because each Lino/COM then had their own fiefdom. Now we have a DOM again, several COMs, several pretendy managers who cover COMs, and several Work Place Coaches who think they are managers and do naff all coaching.

Yes, management grades have been levelled like operations before them. Yet the same way there's still a 'PHG' running the locker, there's still a 'DOM' running the office.
The machine stops.

They paid our Dom and Lino's out and great cost, now we have useless kids running the shop.

A complete waste of space and money, the posties run the shop themselves the linos and planners would just f**k it up then had the audacity to bully and harrass when it wasn't working. Wouldn't sympathize one bit if they got the boot.

My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

If they REALLY wanted to cut hours to save money, there’s plenty of dead wood.
