I got Monday the 23rd , week off in Christmas ? so does that still stand ? i had first pick of the Rota as well .

All union reps are legally entitled to paid “release/facilities time” each week to undertake union work. Some poor sod has to cover their duty (or part thereof) when the union rep is engaged on union business! In my book the reps are paid.

Sounds like the poster above is saying "cushy" in terms of doing union work instead of RM work.
They might think RM work is harder.
Personally I wouldn't be a rep as too much crap gets levelled at them.
Some of it justified, some not in my experience.
