How do you work out that RM are making a loss? They would be paying our wages either way. Whether we be collecting or delivering mail.

You're invoking the line 'it takes no extra time' (as applied to lapsing, COLOD, deliver to neighbour, PC, etc etc) while I'm saying there's no such thing as a free lunch. Someone correct me, but Parcel Collect wasn't free initially was it? Or at least the rolling 100% discount creates the impression that there should be a charge.

If you charge extra on top of the postage, it will dissuade people from using the service entirely. They will simply drop it into a Post Office when passing, and we lose money via the cut the PO takes from posting this way. It is a way to build up loyalty and establish a user base that you can then eventually start charging. This sounds like a far better case of RM abusing its market position for Ofcom to investigate than that Whistl BS.

Given the increase in postage rates, since it launched, the 75p fee is likely being absorbed by those alone. Look, I’m not saying it takes no time, but there is no way it is losing RM money. If I get 5-6 a day it is a lot, and collecting them takes as long as delivering parcels, and given they have dropped off by at least this amount daily, it isn’t eating into my time significantly. In my experience, it is repeat customers too, which it benefits RM to keep sweet.
