If a slot has three numbers - lets say 2,4 and 6 - where are you sorting 4's mail into? Do you sort 2s into the left side and 6 into the right like a double slot - which is no issue - and then somehow just guess where the point between where 2's mail ends and 6's starts in the slot and fire 4's in and hope for the best?

I really cant believe there are frames with three addresses to a single slot that can function efficiently at all.

Is this really a thing? If so, why?

Must surely be more time consuming faffing about with a triple slot, especially if there’s more than a day’s mail sitting in it and I bet misdelivered mail is commonplace.

If the USO changes it actually makes sense to have 1 big frame. Colour coded every 5 or 6 columns to denote what days each bit goes out.

Like everything though, how it s deployed then managed will be the issues.

I'm guessing just stick "4's" roughly in the middle of the slot and just leave it to the postie to flick though when they are delivering, or all the ideas implemented this must be one of the worst.

I have triple slots but fortunately not many. If I get mail for the ‘middle’ number, I have to pull everything out from the slot and flick through to put the letter in the right place.

I've seen quad and triple slot - quad slot for small block of flats. When you walk in you are flicking through the bundle and sorting. However, when at the frame, if you are on prep, you either ram it all in and figure it out when you're walking it. Or you leave the letters for that slot on the frame and once the IPS is clear you organise the letters - first; middle; last. Or first; second; third; fourth; etc.

Double-slotted is not hard for d2d's. It's letters then d2d's then d2d's then letters; or it's d2d's then letters for one address then letters for another address then d2d's. Repeat over and over. Letters + d2d's; then letters + d2d's over and over is easier but it is not a nightmare situation. Bigger fish to fry.

Anyone with any sense will see that this is the last way the ones above force us out ,posties that have had there own rounds and seniority will be gone , there is a name for this method is it forced dismissal ?

It is not forced dismissal.
But that is the part of the mission.
Exhausting employees, psychologically draining them and making them despondent will make posties leave voluntarily.
They are not concerned about new entrants leaving under the same conditions either.
Royal Mail want a Amazon workforce. One that is flexible, one that has a revolving door of employees.
Nobody gets old enough or ill enough to get ill health retirement. Nobody is there long enough to create
culture or a community or to make a stance against their treatment.
A workforce as flexible as the delivery frame. Labour perfectly matching workload.

There seems to be a bit of sense with this. Right now we’ve got some people going out with hardly anything whilst others are overwhelmed. One thing is for certain tho, there will be daily arguments.

I worked with the old 48 box fittings for my first 20 years on delivery,and to be honest since the mail has started to get lighter most days,they would be a lot better to work on than double or triple slot frames
