Have to agree I mean the years upon years of mismanagement, failed revisions, paying CEO'S off millions, the millions funnelled to shareholders, the privatisation of the company, the senior figures in top management roles who would be lucky to get a job on minimum wage if they weren't at RM is all down to a postie plodding the streets wearing...a baseball cap.

What is wrong with a baseball cap? Granted, I don’t wear the horrible looking RM one, but they are essential for those of us follically challenged.

I despise the wide brim hats. They blow off with the slightest breeze, look silly (not that the rest of our uniform is at the cutting edge of fashion) and just looks and feels out of place.
I find most people moaning about how we look (and I too think trainers/own t shirts looks really slack) last did the job decades ago when they could be home in time to see their kids off to school. I’d like to see them work outdoors in the midday heat for 5 hours wearing their beloved peak caps, shirts, ties etc.

Your forebearers managed to do the job dressed in a teddyboy suit when the walks were uphill both ways!
Seems the French held onto their peaked caps longer than us...

They look smart.
Thing is, if I started work at 4.30am (or whatever it uses
D to be), parcels were an alien thing, was out on delivery by 6, return to the office for a fry up at 8 and then a handful of second delivery letters before heading home I’d gladly wear a 3 piece suit and top hat!
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

I can’t believe the number of people crying about double slots.
Since I started nearly 30 years ago we have always had walks with double and even treble slots. Treble are stupid but double aren’t exactly a major problem.
If all you have is single slots you should consider yourself very lucky.

About 3 walks in our office, rural walks, have single slots, the rest are all double.jagger wrote: ↑05 Jul 2024, 18:32I can’t believe the number of people crying about double slots.

How does a treble slot work?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I have just over 400 dp's, mostly single slots, but most of it is big detached houses with long driveways.
Triple slots should be for terraced with no garden, double for semi's, and single for big, detached houses.

For a minute there I thought I was in an alternate reality where no other office had double slots.
There will be far worse things to worry about with 1 single big frame than no more single slots.

Re: Delivery 2.0
Seconded. Double slots are a simple case of prepping one door's stuff on the left and the other on the right. Are they just being shoved in any old order and then run-in before tying up like it's the days of the 48-box frame?
We used to have that crap with closes: just one big open slot and you'd have to sit there and re-sequence it by flat number or, more likely, name. Could easily cost you an hour at Christmas doing that for a duty predominantly comprised of closes. Great way to miss the van out. RM2000 was invented for a good reason.
The machine stops.

Re: Delivery 2.0
Double or treble you either just take them all out or number them.
Back to Delivery 2.0 it seems like the company are deadly serious about rolling it out nationally over the next couple of years.
