Re: A Royal Mail postman has been caught writing 'racists' on Reform UK leaflets
Fair warning - the discussion in this thread has shifted from critiquing a Postman's actions to delving into personalities and attempting to discredit differing opinions by labelling them as racist or not.
Racism and its interpretation aren't simply black and white, they exist on a broad spectrum of opinions. Everyone holds distinct views on what constitutes racism, and it's unjust to force your perspective onto others.
Despite the contentious nature of racism and politics, my intention in sharing this article was to raise awareness about the potential consequences (dismissal), not to sow discord among individuals.
I share articles to facilitate discussions regarding the content and its implications for postal workers. While politics may occasionally seep into these conversations if it begins to dominate a thread and detract from its informative nature, the thread's value must be reconsidered.

So you too think that literally 97% of the world’s scientists are being paid to fabricate this problem then? That’s fine. There is no point even continuing to engage as you are too far gone.richietns wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 07:15Milly has already answered you...is that your thing call everybody a buzz word when they disagree and then repeat the same question over and over until you get them to agree.LouBarlow wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 06:41So you aren’t going to answer the question? Fine. Neither will milly. Nobody ever does when it comes to defending conspiracy theories that are disproven by science.richietns wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 05:59Conflicts are wars and are man made and its always for money and more importantly power.LouBarlow wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 05:55Why are all these scientists complicit do you think? Do you believe in science? Maybe there just always is some crisis or another? I get it, people would prefer to believe in crackpot conspiracy theories, rather than grasp the grim reality, but you only have to look at the conflicts around the world right now to see how unstable everything is. Sometimes a crisis is just a crisis.richietns wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 05:16Climate change is clearly a tax everything around us is money money money to think otherwise is just dumb...have you ever noticed there's always a crisis (we have global warming..right pay up and by the way if you want to go into the city with your car you can pay for the privilege).

Ooh thanks for the continued education Milly. Out of interest was the medieval warm period a globally synchronous event? Or largely regional?milly wrote: ↑02 Jul 2024, 21:39Still waiting for you to explain the medieval warm period enabling the vikings to sustain themselves growing crops on Greenland or why the Sahara was a savvanah a few thousand years ago.LouBarlow wrote: ↑02 Jul 2024, 21:3097% of the world’s scientists are open to bribes apparently. milly is not a conspiracy theorist though.
Scientists on the payroll of companies will say anything for funding, hence this headline from two days ago.
‘Ultra-processed’ jam and cereals no worse than more natural foods, US breakfast study concludes
Also, was the temperature increase during the medieval warm period similar to todays warming?
Are there any theories as to what might have caused the medieval warm period? Maybe solar variability or volcanic activity?
Was the rate of temperature increase back then comparable to the past century?

No one is denying that there are natural changes in the climate and have been throughout the existence of Earth. Shark teeth litter the Sahara and there are fossils of plants on Iceland that no longer grow there.milly wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 18:57The medieval warm period was followed by the mini-ice age.mjd24 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 18:25Ooh thanks for the continued education Milly. The inescapable fact is the impact human activity has had on climate change since the Industrial Revolution. That can’t be denied, it’s now part of the fossil record of Earth. Our activity is accelerating global warming. This is a fact.
Anyway, did the postie writing ‘racist’ on Reform leaflets get the sack?

The people promoting the climate change hysteria don't even believe in it themselves, otherwise they wouldn't fly by private jet or own beachfront property.Barnacle wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 19:20No one is denying that there are natural changes in the climate and have been throughout the existence of Earth. Emma Thompson is so conviced of climate change that she owns a property in Venice of all places.

I left this conversation part way and come back it find it drifted from a postman behaving questionably to racism then finally to climate change

I think you are misrepresenting the "research".
They never sustained themselves growing crops. Their diet was largely seal.
They may have tried growing crops (because that was their bag) but not in any wide acreage and not with much success.
Barley cultivation may have been attempted in one small area in the south of the country but seal meat was the staple of their diet and they left probably because they got bored eating it.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Researchers from the National Museum in Copenhagen say the answer to the question is ‘yes’. In a unique find, they uncovered very small pieces of charred grains of barley in a Viking rubbish heap on Greenland.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑03 Jul 2024, 22:24I think you are misrepresenting the "research".

The find is final proof that the first Vikings to live in Greenland did grow barley – the most important ingredient in brewing beer, making a form of porridge or baking bread, traditionally seen as staple foods in the Vikings’ nutritional diet.
Each side of the grain of barley is only a couple of millimetres long, and the grain weighs less than 0.01 mg – yet the find is an archaeological sensation. (Photo: Peter Steen Henriksen)
“Archaeologists have always believed that the Vikings tried to cultivate the soil on their farms in fertile southern Greenland,” says Peter Steen Henriksen, who holds an MSc in agriculture. “But this hasn’t been proved until now.”

You forgot Viking dietary provisions in Greenland
Hopefully when we have a change in government later today, the need for these crackpot conspiracy theories online will be reduced and people can start to heal their brains.
