It seems only a few parcels are arriving in wave 2 and we're still getting the usual LAT's around mid day at our DO, apart from making us deliver mail in the mid afternoon heat it's not clear why we need to start so late.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 07:08Same, plus the earliest starters arrive even before the ones that are being paid to be there so the mail is obviously there so what's the point especially now it's getting a bit bloody hot.claretandblue wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 06:25We have early sorters in every morning which makes a mockery of later starts.

We'll have to see what volumes are like in the autumnTopperGas wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 19:12It seems only a few parcels are arriving in wave 2 and we're still getting the usual LAT's around mid day at our DO, apart from making us deliver mail in the mid afternoon heat it's not clear why we need to start so late.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 07:08Same, plus the earliest starters arrive even before the ones that are being paid to be there so the mail is obviously there so what's the point especially now it's getting a bit bloody hot.claretandblue wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 06:25We have early sorters in every morning which makes a mockery of later starts.

We've got businesses griping that they'd much rather we just delayed their post to the following morning. They're setting their agenda in the morning and now we're delivering their letters so late in the day that it completely up-ends their work. Best have all your stuff sent 9AM guaranteed (guarantee not available in this postcode)!
The machine stops.

Purely done out of vindictiveness towards staff….. no other reason. It’s just another tool to try and push older staff into leaving.TopperGas wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 19:12It seems only a few parcels are arriving in wave 2 and we're still getting the usual LAT's around mid day at our DO, apart from making us deliver mail in the mid afternoon heat it's not clear why we need to start so late.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 07:08Same, plus the earliest starters arrive even before the ones that are being paid to be there so the mail is obviously there so what's the point especially now it's getting a bit bloody hot.claretandblue wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 06:25We have early sorters in every morning which makes a mockery of later starts.
It seems pretty obvious after what’s gone on over the last 3 or 4 years that sooner or later redundancies are going to be needed by the business and everything they’ve done over this time period is purely being done to reduce those who’ve been here for a few years. I imagine that the Czech pillock has been working behind the scenes with the board on this for a number of years as he built up his shareholding

It's obviously designed to make us long term staff leave or if too strong minded to do that.... Die in the sun! 5 hours walking flat out is brutal

There's got to be a threshold at which it'll be cheap enough to force everyone remaining onto the newer contracts, even when employment tribunal costs are factored in

I'm staying until the bitter end and will make life as difficult as possible for the business....
30 years of loyalty to be treated the way we are is disgusting!
But I've always had that you won't beat me attitude I will leave when I'm ready to stop work permanently and not before

Nobody can be forced to sign a new contract on lesser terms than they are presently already on unless they are compensated, stop scaremongering.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑27 Jun 2024, 07:28There's got to be a threshold at which it'll be cheap enough to force everyone remaining onto the newer contracts, even when employment tribunal costs are factored in

Take the rose tinted glasses off. If it becomes cheap enough to force everyone over to new contracts, even when having to pay any compensation by a tribunal, they'll force it through. Remember with a tribunal they don't have to re-employ someoneTopperGas wrote: ↑28 Jun 2024, 17:52Nobody can be forced to sign a new contract on lesser terms than they are presently already on unless they are compensated, stop scaremongering.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑27 Jun 2024, 07:28There's got to be a threshold at which it'll be cheap enough to force everyone remaining onto the newer contracts, even when employment tribunal costs are factored in
