Some minor quibbles, as seen in this thread. I can tell you I hate it and it's nowhere near my office. Reflexively now I just hate whatever is coming down the pipeline. Whatever it is it's abundantly clear that it isn't designed to make my working life easier. I'm not asking to be paid to do jack all. I'm asking to be left in peace to do the goddamned job I signed up for.

The union talks about resisting the gig economy - well here comes the thin end of the wedge! I can see it now: no set duty (you've signed for something but it's completely amorphous), zero hour contract so you check the People App after finishing lunch and it says come into work and do these sections as algorithmically determined by New Horizons (the inspiring new name for the infallible mainframe that dictates your working life).

Apparently delivery 2.0 that has gone live around the country has bombed out, typical Royal Mail they have spent so much money on it so dont want to admit they have f---ed it up just like Horizon and all the other delivery methods since privatisation,this company is finished and one more thing how the planner in our area has still got a job i will never know .

How will this work if/probably when the USO gets changed by ofcom and second class mail is only going out every other weekday? Some managers struggle to create a weekly rota so I struggle to see how they will keep on top of which parts of the massive snake frame went out the day before and which bits didn’t!
Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen but this is RM so naturally it will be rolled out nationally.

Been announced to us this week that our upcoming revision, and every revision around the country will be delivery 2.0.

Given that I'm not allowed to answer any work related question from a colleague (or any question for that matter) without the sociopath in charge magically appearing and hovering over my shoulder to ensure I don't say anything that is true but contradicts any official line, leaves me with the opinion this is nothing more than a way to keep us all in clear sight and 'trouble makers' in line....or out the door.

He's already announced he wants to follow ofcom/rm's proposed watering down of the uso which is another way of saying get rid of more staff.

WTF is this pile of steaming turd, whoever believes that anything left to a dom/com (whatever the feck you call them) to decide on can only end in tears, the local kiss-ass will have the lightest load with the rest expected to pick up the slack.
Since i started 18yrs ago they have been trying to reinvent the wheel, so far everything has more or less stayed the same, except for the massive costs everytime some half-wit thinks they have a good idea.
Sometimes a wheel is just a wheel and apart from sequenced mail, which actually was great , most of the rest has been a waste of time.

I just read a CWU article that's been posted within the 'UNION' threads...

I have no idea what issue they are trying to resolve, the main thing that was mentioned was more floor space for parcels, so maybe it's that? Do they expect parcel volumes to rocket due to some new contracts they have got - who knows.

All that I got from the article was...

-Frames are put in a connected line.

-More floor space for parcels.

-Double slotted frames (2 properties in one slot) - RIDICULOUS!

Nothing in the article said anything about benefitting us from what I saw. Double slots and working right next to potentially 2 colleagues is a terrible idea. People will chat more and double slots are a terrible idea for obvious reasons.
