Welcome pinstripe.

You have asked 2 questions there so to answer you:

Is anyone really happy in Royal Mail: Yes the lads and lasses at my DO make it a good job and the people on here do as well.

Am I happy working FOR Royal Mail: In a way yes but it would be better if they treated me in the same way they say they do in their propaganda, and it would be far better if they treated us all as hard working, proud adult posties, instead of feeding us all the crap that's going on at the moment.

By the qay good question for a first post.

Happy?

Post by Donkey »

I was happy, the job offers such freedom like i have never known before in a working enviroment. The people i work with are good and when im out there on my walk i go at the pace that suits me on that particular day. Up until the last two weeks i always got finished, however my office in London are now refusing to use their cars and taking the 40 min break, also our nights have been cut so much later starts are order of the day and as we only work to our time i am having to cut off sometimes. Point is this is the way RM want us to work and it Does'nt, why? because withdrawing our goodwill (cars and taking breaks etc) proves we put in extra effort and it turns out they (RM) are not gratefull at all instead they wish to make the job unbearable with more cuts longer walks, more door to doors and whats in it for us NOTHING. VOTE YES.

My partner does my head in, he always waves at Royal Mail lorry drivers when they pass while we are on delivery, I asked him today “Do you actually know him?” No “well why are you waving at him” :arrrghhh

That lorry driver is one of your colleagues and you and everyone else is all part of the cog that makes the network work.

Why wouldn't you wave at your colleagues :wave

When I'm driving my lorry, I wave at Postmen/Women who are delivering if I pass them. I also sometimes flash them (Not with my penis, with my lights) I also wave at lorries passing on the opposite carriageway.

Of course there are people who love the job. All the runners who are in 60 minutes early and never take a meal break must love it. They even go over for free. I only work my hours and they make me feel guilty for having a meal break.
Of course they are happy. They adore it. :coolr

Still happy but I am all too aware that my office is an exception now in that it is well run. If I had to put up with half of the nonsense you guys put up with I wouldn’t be so positive and jovial.

Not happy at all. I hate the job. Hate the managers. The vans and uniform are rubbish..I hate the early/late starts. I've hated every single day of these last 50 years 😆 🤣 😂 I can't wait to leave 😆

Stockholm syndrome, said it before. Many get it.
But it’s crazy how when you think things couldn’t get and worse then….

Customers ask why are you starting an hour later now? Because next year there’s a possibility a airplane may be cancelled.. 😡

Compared to other jobs I've endured, it's by no means the worst thing out there. It's still s**t, but not quite as s**t as office or retail work
