Only 4 years TrueBlueTerrier? awwwww lol
I started as a cadet in February 1984, then as a postman for a couple of years. Desparate for drivers they asked me to become one...so i passed my test with Royal Mail ( an intensive week learning to drive from 9am to 5pm then the easy test on the Friday!) As a driver i did many jobs and shifts...earlies, day, split and a 3pm to 11pm duty.
I worked as a driver on the old security vans...delivering cash to P.O`s etc too. I`ve also been an acting distribution manager but went back to being a driver after seeing the light. ( I like to look at my payslip and say i`ve earned that money!)
I am now on a rural driving duty and have been for about 13 years on the same walk.
Everyone knows my name and i know the customers, village and farms like the back of my hand. I think thats what makes a postman unique....local knowledge.
Anyway enough of my exciting career hehe.....am glad to be here and will post now and then when inclined to do so.
