Royal Mail is doomed.

I was wandering around my walk and it suddenly came to me, RM is doomed! Make a great bit of click bait i thought, but i think there might be something in it so bear with me.
Currently we are apparently losing a million a day, that has been on going for a few years now.
With the amount of posties who have jumped ship/retired, say 20 to 30k posties down, replaced by say 10 to 15k employed on new contracts.
We are still losing a million a day.
Now allowing for the fact we are failing mail everyday of the week somewhere in the UK, but we are managing to deliver the majority of the tracked specials etc and are still losing a million a day.
How the feck is anybody going to turn this around without some sort of dramatic change.
On the other hand maybe the million a day thing is a load of bollocks and Kretinsky will wander in and make a fortune.

I don’t think he is interested in fixing it to be honest. He will simply look to reduce the losses it makes in the short term, then when the two year assurance on our terms expires, he will go hard on cutting it even further, which will likely mean our contracts being attacked again.

I don't believe DK has any history on making losses on his acquisitions? So he either has a plan to turn things around or we've not losing as much as presently claimed? If we move to the every other day deliveries proposed then I assume that will lead to an improvement in the bottom line?

would he have bought it if it was losing a million a day, and apparently has been for donkies. would he f**k. and he certainly isn't buying it to LOSE money. the whole lot has been a giant load of bollox. union fell for it, sold us down the river (and their souls with us) and theres only one way this ship is heading. glad i am out.

The company has yet to figure it out for nigh on a quarter of a century now and the union maybe kinda has some vague plan but hasn't been able to spit out the merest suggestion of the shape of an idea. So either DK is the Jonathan Creek of spotting the tiny detail that everyone has missed that will miraculously refloat the Titanic... or he's going to gut it.

Yes, I think how it works is the area reps etc are still employed and paid by royal mail as postie's but they are reps full time, apparently rm threatening to stop this cropped up on the run up to the last deal which at the time some suspected that it helped to encourage the CWU to recommend the deal.
