What happened to flexing?

Was always voluntary and dependent on unforeseen circumstances such as a break down or late arrival from mc , not just when your manager fancies it because walks are to big to complete.

I remember when the whole office was called to one end of the unit & told they would be using the 30 minute flexing agreement, he was greated with f☆☆k off you can b☆☆☆☆☆☆s end of any flexing

It states above the review into flexing would be complete by July 2023. Any idea of the outcome of said review?

The real problem ith it was that the time had to be given back to you; in the same week I believe.

When was the last time they allowed 30 seconds to be spare in our day, never mind 30 minutes they can give us in return for the 30 minutes we might have generously agreed to give them?

On the odd occasions I was asked to flex 30 minutes in the past I used to say "OK, can I finish 30 minutes early on Saturday and leave a few loops?" The answer was usually "Can you come in 30 minutes later and we will have someone put in your 1st wave of mech instead?" NO! Conversation closed. Flexing is voluntary and a two way process.

I would prefer it if my contracted hours were reduced by 1 hour per day, but I had to complete the duty which would mean working some overtime each day up to a maximum of 1 hour.

This would mean:

-I wouldn't have to walk so far.
-I wouldn't have to deal with managers complaining about me bringing back mail.
-I could job and finish.
-The duty is cleared everyday which is good for me, good for Royal Mail and good for the managers.
-Royal Mail pay me for the hours I work.... no such thing as going home early.

Most people obviously would not want this setup as it means reduced pay as you'd be working less hours, but I'd gladly accept a contract change like this as it should in theory wipe out all the stress, arguments, and politics that goes on within offices on a daily basis..... it would also result in Royal Mail needing less managers.

Don't be silly there is plenty of work for managers to do in producing more paperwork as regards the regular bulletins on health & safety, manual handling, dog attacks, safe driving etc etc
