AS IF WE NEED AN EXCUSE TO WATCH THIS AGAIN!
We’re reaping the successes of our peak period – with customers continuing to return to us and now, a prestigious campaign award win.
In October last year, we launched the We are Christmas campaign to seize a golden opportunity to show everyone why we are still the carrier of choice.
With great thanks to the efforts of colleagues across the UK, we delivered the best Christmas peak performance in four years, with over 99% of First and Second Class items posted by the last recommended posting dates delivered in time for Christmas. In our fourth quarter, more than 93% of all First Class letters delivered within two days*.
And, above all, led by this feature film that kicked off the campaign, we installed a sense of pride into what we do for the country at Christmas. And it’s that which has been recognised by industry leaders.
Our We are Christmas film landed the top prize in the Internal category of the Brand Film Awards 2024. It led Jenny Hall, Director of Corporate Affairs, to pay tribute to the efforts of all our teams throughout peak.
She said: ‘It’s fantastic to be recognised with this prestigious award. The film truly demonstrates the importance of our people at the busiest time of the year and the joy we can bring to make Christmas for our customers in millions of homes across the UK.’
The Brand Film Awards recognise outstanding creativity, storytelling, and production in the world of branded content. It showcases the power of video storytelling and its ability to engage and inspire audiences. The awards honour the best of the best in brand filmmaking.
Daryl Spencer-Lovesey, from our film partner agency Linney, who helped produce the film, added: ‘Working with Royal Mail is a privilege and honour. I meet posties and operatives from every corner of the UK and I believe this allows me to observe the company from different perspectives.
‘Winning the Brand Film Award is fantastic and I firmly believe in celebrating the efforts of the company and its employees.’
*Full year final quality of service performance will be issued in May following final data validation

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Perspectives such as finding the optimal angle that hides the lapsing duty that hasn't budged in four days. I would dearly love to see some cameras in the office to dutifully record what I've seen.POSTMAN wrote: ↑26 Apr 2024, 19:16Daryl Spencer-Lovesey, from our film partner agency Linney, who helped produce the film, added: ‘Working with Royal Mail is a privilege and honour. Feel good Friday? About 20% of the mail in my unit stayed in the frame yesterday (Friday). As usual, several shared van duties were staffed by only one person, and some of the HCT duties were being taken out with 3 or 4 days mail on them. Do senior management at Royal Mail actually know what is happening at DO level and ignoring it, or is it being concealed by successive layers of managers as operating information is reported up the food chain? My office has been like this since before Covid 19 was invented.
