There’s an office near mine that uses that poster. For some unknown reason they removed our suggestion box.

Our office also uses that poster. Strangely enough, the customer comments are pretty the same wording as the ones on this poster....I’m guessing COMdoms have been given a few examples of what to put and have taken it literally.

How will this wall work within the universal service reform, where posties rotate between different delivery routes?

Great question. Of course we don't know the shape of the USO reform until Ofcom determines that.

In the example of our submission shown in the slide the "all product" person alternates between routes, all the "all product" routes for a given day would have to be adjacent in a run on the prep frame and then a separate block of routes which are "1c/parcel" today.

This would then allow someone to extend or contract into a block of neighbouring DPs with the same traffic profile and keep the prep simple.

In the 1c/parcel block people could also extend and contract within the same type of delivery work.
With the proposed change there should be 2 features on an "all product" route.
1) As you say fewer DPs served on an all product route as the % called at is higher
and 2) Less day to day variation as the letter call rate should mean the workload is more consistent and you have 1 day's parcels and 2 days' letters.

This should mean less need to absorb or drop delivery points from day to day, but not no need to do it. This is how the RM proposed USO change and the Delivery 2.0 could work together, but we need to see what form of reform we get before we confirm our exact designs.

The way it’s going you will need a degree in mathematics to be able to do this job.

Imagine trying to explain that to a new starter!!

So what happens if all the 2c post is not cleared everyday if there's "then a separate block of routes which are "1c/parcel" today." I assume when prepping that block of routes you'll be sorting that day's incoming 1c/parcel work into slots where there's already 2c/parcel work and D2D's from the previous day(s)?

What's the benefit of rotation?

again, it sounds like another bad idea.

Regular posties know the codes for flats, know where people like their parcels or don't like their parcels, know where the dodgy dogs are, etc etc etc...
There is so much a regular postie knows versus people being shifted about.

That’s all lovely (horrific) and neat and tidy, without any mail and whatnot but does spending hours upon hours tinkering with frames, result in your average postie being a more efficient worker drone, who can walk two miles longer and carry twice as much?

Will walks even exist with Delivery 2.0? Is it possible that you'll just be told that you're taking out everything between two places on the one large frame?

There will not be walks,just sections and we be as required day 2 day,this clearly shows RM couldn’t care less about us building trust and relationship with our customers .
