Not sure how being in a completely different union to the rest of us (members), will work in practice when industrial action starts again, which it will.

Correct. The deceitful, dishonest, charlatans that run the company won't be happy until they own you. They expect you to prioritise RM over your family and your freedom. If you don't like it, they're happy for you to leave, so they can employ a cheaper, more mouldable slave instead.

Actually I don’t think it’s an exaggeration……. You are spot on! They aren’t interested in your work life balance, they want you at their beck & call. Unfortunately in our line of work (delivery I’m talking about) the effects of a days work don’t get left behind when you walk out of the door at the end of the day. You get home & are f****d & have so many aches & pains. The physical effects of the work we do should be taken into account when constructing duties to get that work life balance ie: 3 or 4 day weeks, 4 on 4 off etc. Having 1 day off at a time gives you zero time to rest & recover ready to go again & I don’t know about others but I end up rushing around on my days off doing jobs at home (as I can’t physically face them after work) that I go back in no better state than I finished. This continual battering of the body is absolutely no good for you over a period of time.

Exactly correct, plus add to this the already ageing workforce, including me, and you can see why there's a mass exodus of older and long serving posties. In fact your description mirrors me when i get home everyday.
All that experience wandering out the door never to return and they couldn't give a feck, sort of deserve to lose a million a day.

even if there was, they certainly wouldn't get a yes vote....not after they sold us down the river.

You may have a point there. Only reason for a union in royal mail now is to to fight an unfair dismissal.

Exactly! Industrial action is a thing of the past for us now! Unless we have nothing to lose ie: the whole company and affiliated union are 99.9% chance of going down the toilet (which isn’t in the realm of impossibly)
