My vote does count
Can someone clarify if we get paid for these. Reason I ask is because my manager and rep say yes but manager and rep in my brothers office say no?

Re: My vote does count
Not entirely sure if you're asking about poll cards, but if you are, it depends how they come in.
If they come in as bundles and such, they're paid extra, you should be given a claim sheet. If they come in your normal mail with franking, they're not paid. It quite possible to get both in one office as a council has volunteers for most and RM deals with the rest on the claim method (3.3p per card I think?), a different council pays postage and chuck them in the post.
If you're getting paid, they're not in your prep plan, and you shouldn't really be allowed to claim for going over with them, as that's what the payment is for.

If they arrive at the inward MC as envelopes, we will certainly put them through the mech and sequence them with the other mech mail. If they come in card form, then it'll be down to the iLSM/IMP operators as to if they'll get put through the machines. As a rule normally if an item of mail has got a chance of being sorted by the machines, it'll get put through them.
If they come in as direct boxes then they'll probably just get wheeled over to the loading bays to go straight onto the vans.

There the “your vote doesn’t count” letters. Reason I ask is because I think my brother has been misled. Think maybe there just a London thing.

These are mayoral election vote packs.
You get paid for them. Get your brother's rep to check with the area rep for confirmation!

Told him to ask his rep but rep says no payment! Think I smell something fishy going on. Will get my rep to contact his area rep when I go back to work Wednesday.

Re: My vote does count
The suspicious side of me thinks rep and buddy’s are putting certain names down as if did all the work! But surely that could never happen now could it??

Are they postal vote forms? If they are, they'll always be run through the mech and sequencedeggraidonmojo wrote: ↑15 Apr 2024, 16:14These are mayoral election vote packs.

The election booklets with all the mayor candidates in - YES - you do get paid extra for these, so have to be counted. We had some in about a week ago but no more since, so there’s still a lot more to come.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
