What amazes me is the claimed reduction in walking. Only way to do that is reduce the DP's per walk but they wont introduce more walks as they are getting rid of staff. So the only way i see this working (in their view) will be a walkless office with just walls of joined frames grouped in areas. You will simply be instructed to take this section and that section etc. Most likely you will get the sections which failed the week before. It will never work if we keep set walks. Just saying.

Sounds like Ringwood, where it was trialled. Not sure if it`s been put on the back burner or what, but they woud like the flexibility of it. Posties on "their" walk for years on end will be a thing of the past.

Should it materialise, I think that more than anything else will move a lot of the senior long term posties closer to the exit door. Some have had their walks for years and become very comfortable with it. To make everything a lottery again when you don't know what walk your on until you turn up in the morning...well let's just say it won't be pretty.

It's telling that the 'business' has been heading this way for the past few years. Duty holders tend to know their customers i.e. the people they deliver to not from.

They organ grinding machine that is Royal Mail now only cares about monetary profit.

It's f***ing bullshit and only a select few people actually benefit. Everyone else loses.

Shockingly 80-85% don’t last 2 wks!
Watched a casual walk into one of the DO’s I collect from Monday with a trolley.I did wonder if he was going to make it to the door, needless to say he lasted one day!!

We`ve had a lot of new starters recently, and amazingly, they`ve all lasted. Looks like we might actually be able to use the holiday days we`ve been unable to book.
