For a reference to mail volumes I'm in an office of 28 walks and we get 5 lorries (7.5t) everyday.Amazon are not delivering where I am now.Its now beyond the joke the amount of mail and parcels arriving daily.Cant recruit for love nor money..jobs totally f*cked.

Why don’t Amazon deliver there? Cheaper to get RM to do it for them?

A repeated theme of mine is that their counting seems iffy. If I knew what their definitions were and what was included within this or that, it might make sense but at the moment it doesn’t.

We're a fairly rural office the manager was given wrong figures from the mail centre for month's and was at the end of his tether having to explain why we are failing so badly now.So he had everyone telling him how much we had after scanning it in.The figures from the MC were way off.Even he is now off with stress so we're no better off.

We're a fairly rural office the manager was given wrong figures from the mail centre for month's and was at the end of his tether having to explain why we are failing so badly now.So he had everyone telling him how much we had after scanning it in.The figures from the MC were way off.Even he is now off with stress so we're no better off.

Apart from SDs, MCs only scan containers (yorks, boxes or sleeves) on arrival at the MC, so I don't know where you're getting any figures from

No idea how it all works but the boss said that the figures he's being told he's recieving in the office are nowhere near what we are actually getting where there counted etc I don't know But the office completely collapsed at one point he's off with stress,and complaints of no letters arriving went very high up.How were not on the list of failing offices il never know

Which mailstreams is it that the figures are way off?

The projected/expected tracked figures given to us by managers are wildly inaccurate. A few Sundays back we were forecast to receive 497 tracked, yet we received almost twice that amount. Nearly always an underestimate rather than overestimate, but it does happen the other way too — we were forecast to receive a whopping 200-odd LATs on Weds afternoon, yet only 45 actually arrived.

Apparently, new starters are having their probation periods extended rather than being offered permanent contracts. I guess this is until RM decide whether to press on with this hare-brained scheme or not, as it will be the cheaper option to let them go rather than pay VR.

Maybe, but it is a recent thing in our office. You were automatically given a contract after your probation period, but this has changed in the last few weeks here. Nobody is getting one now. Even those who are good at the job.

It does make you think whether the figures being provided are deliberately being understated. After the Horizon scandal, which dates way back to when Post Office was under the control of Royal Mail, deliberately understating delivery failures at Delivery Offices, denails that Tracked products are prioritised over USO mail and now even customers getting surcharged for "fake" stamps that aren't fake at all, I wouldn't put it past management to provide false figures. It just seems to be an ingrained culture to lie.

After all, it wouldn't suit the Royal Mail narrative that "mail is down", if the true figures show otherwise.

Absolute nightmare today. I had 165 tracked and 7 customer collects. Also 15 timed specials. How can I ever get loops done? Not even got time for the toilet. Flat out for the whole 4 and a half hours out there.

Four and a half hours? Are you part time, can’t get mine done with the sheer volume of Mail and parcels,in under 5 ,usually 6 hours and I don’t buy this bollocks about Mail being down either , not after the volumes this week. Busiest week I’ve ever seen in the last 2 weeks , 4 mech trays on a Monday ffs and we’ve got the brain dead morons keep getting D2D’s booked in to add to the already unachievable workload.
