I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Too little, too late ! The horse has bolted. You had a 97% Yes vote to further action and you bottled it. Now Delivery are living with the results of your recommendation to vote yes. Over 30 years I’ve backed the union , and encouraged others to do the same, but no more. I’m glad I’m at the end of my career and not at the lower terms second class new starter level ! I dare you to do a month on delivery ( not in London ) you wouldn’t last a week ! You’re overweight & out of touch with the membership , so are the area reps . Local reps and members are as broken as the duty’s they deliver!
Admit it, you’ve failed - and we’re paying the price !

I will always back the union at the end of the day we have a start time and finish time,if it’s heavy you have the choice to stay out and get docket,if that’s not a option for you just leave some work it’s not hard

Another meeting, followed by another meeting until Royal Mail decides it’s going to do what it wants regardless.

They are trying to give the impression they are still relevant with their new studio and q&a while Royal Mail just ploughs on regardless, this has been going on for over a year now , my office hasn’t seen an area rep in months.

Isn't there another Pullinger type anywhere who can get hold of the reins here?

I can't believe these lumps are the top of the pile for leading a union. At least they could never be accused of being "militant".

WTF is going on? There has to be some passionate gobshite up for a fight taking over soon. Pleeeeeeeeese :pray

Would these two guys be prepared to deliver parcels upto 9pm for a measly pittance of £12.54 per hour?
I don’t think so!

I really don't know if RMG members are at the forefront of the CWU's mind these days. I heard the union mentioned somewhere recently (Guardian politics podcast?) as the union of BT and call centre workers. Has postal membership declined that precipitously?
The machine stops.
