My partner put in for this and it was accepted. They gave me the option of working their hours.

They will just find someone else who has been accepted and move you somewhere else.

I’m not sure about that. We have only had our start times changed by 15 minutes so it isn’t that big a deal.

Why don’t you confine your trolling comments and digressions to that thread instead of hijacking other threads?

Just don’t give them the attention they crave. I honestly think they might be deranged at this point. Maybe admin can track them down and make sure they are ok. Maybe contact authorities to ensure they aren’t a danger to themselves.

Yeah I agree. We have a manager also affected by the change so that might have helped. His manager above him certainly said that there would be zero exemptions which definitely supports your claim. I don’t know what is going on beyond this but we are a successful office otherwise which might be helping behind the scenes.

Got knocked back. Office is moving 1 hour 5 mins forward. Cant pick the kids up, After giving evidence of the kids finishing times. Shocking for a employer to ask for evidence. It like there is no trust. Is there a option of VR if they cant accommodate me anone know?

Which “real OPG” have I trolled? You aren’t an OPG and so can’t be trolled. Indeed, you’re not even meant to be in this room. This is a forum for current employees to discuss day-to-day goings on. Most offices appear to be critically understaffed with posties that have left simply haven't been replaced. Going through the numbers we actually have more employees working in the business overall now than 5 years ago - but most of them are on part-time contracts, which might explain why the work isn't getting completed on a daily basis. What is the mix of full time, part time and new starts in your office?

Damn I wouldn’t have a clue. We have so many mixtures of contracts and start times it is impossible to keep track. Job-shares on full time rounds, new contracts who start at 9. People who work two days a week. It is a real variety now. There aren’t part time duties though. They are all the same size.

No exemptions granted in my office. We've been pushed back an hour with some days due to be 4.30pm finish.

Ironically, a few people are already managing to collect their children on the days that we currently finish at 3.30pm by working flexibly with the COMs blessing. He says that the new times are a bridge too far, so hard cheese.

He gave all of the applicants a printed sheet with the reasons for refusal......disruption of duty patterns, cost to the business, etc. Rather laughingly, he also listed the impact on provision of the USO!. This, in a grossly understaffed office where peeps routinely deliver sections of walks with 3 or 4 days mail already.

Would it not make sense for the trucks to deliver to the further DO's first on their route and work their way back towards the main hub...mail centre etc...almost in reverse. Which most of us do on delivery anyway. That way the last DO on the end of the chain wouldn't have such a huge waiting time to the one nearest the mail centre. It might balance out the offices only changing by 15mins to the one's having the whole 90mins added to their finish times. Even it up a bit more.
