Pension advice
I'm 57 with nearly 35 years service with RM. I've never really thought about pensions but with the job having changed for the worse in recent times I'm considering leaving at 60. I'm in the DBCBS and I'm wondering if it would be worth moving to the RMDCP and start making large AVC contributions in the 2 1/2 years or so I would hopefully have left. Am i right in thinking AVCs can't be made in the DBCBS ? Forgive my ignorance but like I say, I've not taken much interest in pensions before now.

Re: Pension advice
Spoke today with my branch secretary who’s recently been on a CWU pension seminar.Jeppol wrote: ↑28 Mar 2024, 16:37I'm 57 with nearly 35 years service with RM. One thing is for sure that the current arrangements we all have whether RMPP/RMSPS or DCBCS will cease when the new pension kicks in later this year as advised by LTB recently.
The seminar was brief in detail but scheme will have the option of AVC’s plus also a 1% additional lump sum contribution also matched by the company.
So information from CWU/RM & The both pension providers are expected if the next window of opportunity October? Is to be expected.

Re: Pension advice
Sounds like you are in section c of which DBCBS is a part. Yes, you can already contribute via AVC's. Suggest you search for RMPP or give them a call for an AVC form.Jeppol wrote: ↑28 Mar 2024, 16:37I'm 57 with nearly 35 years service with RM.
