If you hitting 99%+ first time delivery is there any benefit in real terms other than a good review on pda like giving a kid a gold sticker on a star chart on the fridge for tidying their room etc? BASICALLY IS THERE ANY £ incentive or just a gold sticker no one cares about?
No £ incentive whatsoever. No gold stickers either.
What’s the message we got this morning about “flowers” in the “my notes” part on the app.. it’s a joke treating us like kids.
There should be a pay incentive or nobody will care.
Flowers? What was that about? I didn’t get that one. Mine was the one about dogs.

Stopped checking mine weeks ago as it doesn't give you the true value of what you do in a day all the scanning you do but it only counts the premium items

I’m sure they said in our WTLL that the My Notes section is where customer feedback will appear. Have you perhaps 739’d some perishable flowers when the customer wanted them left in a safe place? Not casting aspersions, just wondering…

You can’t get in trouble for leaving a card. Even my local Evri driver won’t doorstep and leave in a safeplace now.

We have people at ours being pulled up left, right and centre for not leaving with neighbours and/or not leaving in safe places, especially with perishables. Putting yourself in the recipient’s shoes, who wants to make a five-mile trip to the DO to collect flowers that have perished and wilted away? Common sense would surely dictate that you deliver it first time, be it to the customer, a neighbour or a safe place.

Listen to what i said ,safeplace - secure out of sight and undercover, there are very few of them ,neighbours at work or refuse because id be knocking on their door everyday, if they dont like it go on the app and put in their preferred location takes all responsibility away from me,if they dont like it dont order it or use the app simple or else i'll carry on carding,(or of course unless my manager signs a letter to say i can leave it anywhere i want.)

A big section of my walk is an area with zero safe place options and you would not knock a neighbour. Supposing someone had flowers, I had to card them and as a consequence they gave me negative feedback via the app: it is my argument that that negative feedback ought not to remain on the app because it is just a customer whining, I would have simply followed procedure so why should I have a black mark on the app?

If I were just driving round delivering parcels then I would probably make more of an effort to get rid of parcels 1st time. But working in pairs and tasked with also delivering post and specials and picking up bulky collections its just not possible. Also, I don't like to keep my van share colleague waiting all the time! We could drive round and deliver the parcels together, which we often do, but then the mail doesn't get delivered and a lot of colleagues don't help out anyway because they see it as the drivers job to deliver the bulky parcels, not theirs! It's a no win situation for a driver on van share.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

It isn’t a “whining customer” though. And excuse my perhaps ignorance or lack of knowledge, but why wouldn’t you knock a neighbour?

A “safe place” is also subjective rather than objective, no? Your milk delivery is safe enough on a doorstep, your new iPad delivery definitely isn’t.

It is a ‘whining customer’ when the only crime you have committed is being unable to leave their flowers because of the neighbourhood they live in.
You wouldn’t knock a neighbours door in certain areas because the parcel will not be seen again, or the neighbours are drug addicts/violent thugs etc. Not everywhere is leafy and lovely.

A very fair point. Although I mainly do a DPR, I do occasionally go out on a walk, always as the non-driver though, and the driver always does get the thin end of the wedge. As the non-driver, it is very nice to let someone else take the slack with all the large parcels, though it does mean I can try neighbours for my small tracked and have a bit of a rest between loops while my partner whizzes round doing the large, as well as his own stuff. I don’t usually feel too bad though — the posties concerned only ever do the large themselves when I am paired with them for the day (they’re walks from my usual DPR duty, and I only ever get pulled off of the DPR to do a walk if parcel volumes mean there isn’t enough large to make a productive DPR). For their part, I think they slyly enjoy watching me cough and splutter as I play at being a regular postwoman rather than packet driver!

Over the garden fence? Local shopkeeper? Estate cleaner? I live on a council estate myself. While some people living on our estate are drug addicts and thugs, don’t tar us/them all with the same brush! As the local postie, you will have knowledge of who can be entrusted with Doris’s flowers until she gets back from work later.

Probably on a rough as f**k estate. You don’t want to be knocking a neighbour out of bed only for their pit bull to bite your knackers off.
