Everyone I've spoken to has said they didn't agree with later finishes. Our picket line was rock solid and I often wonder if the deal was rigged and the Communication Managers Union are only trying to save face.

They asked everyone they know though. That definitely sounds more scientific a way to ballot a workforce.
I voted NO to the deal but I think its unfair to frame it as the workforce voting the deal through because they were in favour of it.
The question of the vote essentially became 'The union cannot negotiate better than this. Do you want to end the industrial action? YES or NO'
Just because people voted YES as they could see we were getting nowhere doesnt mean they necessarily endorsed the agreement or wanted it. They just thought that more strikes wouldnt lead to any more concessions or change.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I’m sorry, voting yes to the deal and then moaning about certain aspects of it later on doesn’t wash , I voted no and feel validated, even though I’m not overly affected by the later starts, I could see it was and was going to be a crap deal .

It's a moot point but while the CWU claim that it was the biggest turnout it has ever had in a consultation ballot - the reality is that only 50% of its overall members voted yes to the deal as many people didn't vote at all. And those who voted yes like chickenwhittle didn't agree with the deal but voted yes anyway. It's sour grapes on my part but there was never a resounding endorsement of the agreement.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

It's not so much about the deal itself but the consequences of it afterwards. Maybe Royal Mail have always had the upper hand in the long run and they were always going to make changes above the beyond the deal. Talking of which...wasn't there supposed to be a joint review in April 2025 over no compulsory redundancies??

I voted no to the deal , my view is if you voted yes , don’t moan about it now.
Did all those moaning about the later start and finish times vote no to the deal ? Considering it was virtually a landslide yes vote , I’d guess the majority didn’t. I voted no and the new times don’t really affect me , a bit rich moaning now .
