A woman had a right go at me today for not acknowledging her dog  I wasn't even delivering to her she was walking towards me & the dog went all fussy & shakey tail, think it even laid on it's back, I apologized told her sorry I'm not keen on dogs, she went off on a right old rant
Kick it next time

Me on a daily basis....

-Wondering why people get so much mail in this day and age when everything is digital. I'm going to the same houses everyday with 3 to 7 letters, when I personally get 2 letters a month (if that).....which is usually one of my bills and maybe something from Royal Mail/CWU.

-Wondering why the heck our office has shortened our days when we are so busy.

My daily curiosity is wondering why no customer who has arrived at the Caller’s office to find it closed, ever takes a pic of the opening hours before driving off. Even when I suggest that they do so to save a wasted journey.

I had a cracking start today, but then i seemed to get bogged down a bit on the bigger loops.

I struggled with the last 4 bags, but at least I finished everything.

With so many bulk postings coming through in the next week or so, there's bound to be multiple letters for every DP. Say there's 5 2C letters per DP for say 75% of DPs being held by the DTS system. If you then get a 1C letter for each DP then the DTS system will then release on the same day as the 1C items come through the 5 2C letters per DP.

We don't get any say locally on if the DTS gets turned off or not. Don't know why RM don't just switch the DTS off for a couple of weeks, till all the days with bulk postings for nearly if not all DPs are over with.

A small handful of walks over the last few days have had a day when they've got 4 or more boxes of sequenced. Some of our batches that are DTS batches had the council tax letters come through, just about all of them have been held by the DTS system. If we end up getting too many days when the system holds more bulk postings, we might end up having to send a shitload of mech to the DOs as manual where it's physically impossible to run it all. Apart from stuff held by the DTS system, we're not allowed to hold anything over for the next night.

So the council tax letters will go through the sorting machines and be counted along with the other machine sorted mail. But you know the random mail that is of varying size and is sorted by division into trays? When is that counted?

Every idivual item gets counted if it goes through a machine. Any manual mail if it's not something that we scan only gets counted on arrival in whatever sleeve/york/tray it comes in (number of containers x average container fill)

Ended up only taking 3/4 of the walk out as it took until 10.15 to get out, even then I ended up 1hr 50m over.
All because of fkin council tax bills, so instead of having just over a box of sequenced on a Monday we had four.
Why can’t council tax bills be spread out over the week? :arrrghhh
