So busy with council tax and mother's day round the corner.

Both Mother's Day and Valentines Day don't seem to be busy any more. For Valentines Day with what we had pass through the MC you'd never know it was Valentines Day as there was no increase in letters coming through and only a barely noticeable increase in the number of flowers coming through.

Most of the Council Tax letters will get held by the DTS system, probably most for the 5 days max before they then get automatically released. If they arrive in the MC on a Monday then any remaining ones will get released on the Friday for Saturday delivery.

Say you left the company at the end of low season (shorter working days)..... will the company want some money back when you leave?

if it does work like this, then what counts as a year? april to april? jan to dec?

winging it sounds about right... going to be a long winter, later finish times are coming in from May/June....then add at least another 20 minutes to that with the busier period....coming back to the office in school rush hour to finish on time, or staying out until ~4.30pm in the dark trying to complete in the colder weather.

My plans are now to leave before next winter comes....which is probably what they want. It's not going to take long for them to end up with a majority of employees on the newer contracts.

This time last year I made the same decision that I would be out before delivering another Christmas - thankfully I was out by the start of October! Best thing I ever done!

I like my colleagues...

I hate the management...

I like the job as a whole, being outdoors, days never really drag unless you work with someone you dislike, or it's raining all day.

I have always found the job knackering - After walking 10 miles I get home and struggle to get up my own stairs in my own house - it's just ridiculous what we do. I spend the rest of the evening with my aches and pains, then try to force myself to stay awake as I don't want to be going to bed at 7pm, 8pm, or even 9pm....I like watching the football, but find myself having to go to bed halfway through an evening match.

I am still relatively young and at times I thought maybe I'd do this until I retire....but at other times that thought is utter madness.

I'd like to walk away from the job now, but am pushing to stay until August/September. Can always change my mind, but if and when I call it a day - my legs will thank me for it, and I cannot wait until the day I can stay up until midnight again, rather than be forced to sleep at 8.30pm because my body is shutting down.
