Good idea Perhaps they should have a section in Wankspace for "Postie's Tracked Photos"? We could then send in photos of our "Residents" (don't want to start that "Customer Argument'' again) sat on their Horses an in their cars, via the PDA hopefully.

If anything I can see us having to deliver by horse and push back dispatch times from Mail centres by at least 15 hours meaning we start our deliveries at 10pm if not later.

On 'some' occasions possibly quite rare you would have to take the pic somewhere other than an open front door.
It would not be the end of the world.
The fact you would be taking a pic while the customer is holding the parcel or in a car etc is what it is.

On a possibly very very rare occasion, if the customer wants to pull a fast one and report a DOR, then more fool them.

Had similar today myself, half posted an Amazon cardboard flat through the box, dog started creating behind the door, owner "Geroff it you little s**t!"
and whips it through before I could photo it! Photo of door taken, wasn't going to ask the owner to open the door with the 'little s**t' going bananas.

Unless you take a picture of the recipient opening the parcel with a massive grin on their face, how will these photos ever 100% confirm deliveries?

Nothing (except death) is ever 100%.
Obviously if you take a picture of a grinning recipient you will probably be sacked for breaching guidelines.
And rightly so.

The colour of their door or flooring aligned with the GPS location will probably be sufficient in most cases.
Never 100% but sufficient.

This is what I adhere to. I don’t bother with the whole half in the letterbox or open door malarkey. I make sure the tracking info is clearly framed and that f I’m leaving it somewhere other than through their door, I make sure the location is in shot.
GPS identifies where you were standing. That’s been good enough at our place so far.

You need enough detail in the POD photo for someone dealing with a potential complaint further down the line to be able to catch out any lying cheats who claim non-receipt.

For stuff posted through a letterbox, I will put them halfway through, then stand back and capture a photo with the door number and/or what surrounds the door. I always loudly say I will post it through fully once I’ve taken a photo as people often grab it!

For parcels handed to the recipient, I have the camera and parcel all ready to go before they answer the door, parcel on doorstep, and then I stand back four or steps, angling the PDA camera so I don’t capture any faces etc, and I take the photo as soon as they open the door, capturing parcel, open door and feet, then handing the parcel to the customer. If ever any items are damaged, usually overfilled Amazon boxes that have split open further upstream, I usually make a point of getting this in the image and telling the recipient I have included the damage in the POD photo and showing them it.
