A trap that many will fall for. Do you have a source for the national agreement, Ren Hoëk? The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Thanks for this. I read others on here also saying the same thing so i reckon our gaffer is trying to pull a fast one. Especially as this has already been going on at our place since long before I started. I may refer him to this forum!chickenwittle wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 11:09Our boss said the exact opposite, 20 mins of our break time can be taken at the end agreed with Royal Mail and CWU to mitigate later finish.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑20 Feb 2024, 17:36I explicitly asked this question to our DOM today in our WTLL on the network time changes, and he said part of the break cannot be taken at the end of the shift (ie clock out 20 minutes early) as it had been prevented by the higher-ups! I know every area differs , ours could well be an agreement locally with CWU and Royal Mail , you would need to speak to your area rep regarding your office.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 16:51Thanks for this. This isn’t true. If anyone is allowed to clock out early without permission our office managers get immediately questioned by the managers above them and we then get bollocked. We have been clocking out 20 minutes early, since clocking out was a thing, and it continues without issue and we have no lapsing either.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 12:05A trap that many will fall for. Posties are also tracked and if they have more than 20 minutes out on delivery and still go home 20 early, they get questioned and conduct coded. It is all being monitored more than people think.

I’m not sure of many other companies that seek to penalise their workers for carrying out their tasks efficiently and at a decent pace.

Just means that they've not yet looked for savings from your officeLouBarlow wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:13This isn’t true. To be fair, given everything else the company is at, it's well believable they'll soon assume your clock out time is with your full break regardless of local agreements. SISO will be used to verify every offices OT. How long before banking of hours is raised again? The changes to our dispatch times don't justify the changes they want to our start times, our office is spending a fortune on early IPS overtime.

It can be no coincidence that as the management of this company has become progressively detached from the operation that the service inches ever closer to complete collapse. I can assure everyone that someone is eagerly reading those sign-out times and plotting to rip more hours out of the office.kazardaimenu wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:40I’m not sure of many other companies that seek to penalise their workers for carrying out their tasks efficiently and at a decent pace.![]()
The PDA may well vomit out an endless stream of daily statistics for the laptop class to pour over, yet anyone who had come up through the pay grades (if they still existed) would be able to recognise those numbers are only sketches of the real world. Is there even a place in those numbers for the quantification of a person? Can they measure how you feel after four hours of rain? When they see those sign-out times they do not see people trying to eke out a few more minutes for their personal lives from more hard labour. They see next year's budget savings. People reduced to machinery, overdriven to breakdown.
The machine stops.

Surely it's only a matter of time before we have to press an option on the PDA to say we have started our break and then press again to say we have finished

Re: What time will you finish from May/June
Why would they care then if people were being allowed to clock out before their time -20 minutes? The fact that we don’t have absorption should tell you that we have been squeezed as much as possible already.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 19:35Just means that they've not yet looked for savings from your officeLouBarlow wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 18:13This isn’t true. If anything they will leave us alone. We are all made to stay till our finish time and sent back out if necessary. We have had finishes after 2.30 for years now and we are performing great.

I'm sure if someone trawled through your post history they would find you bragging about having a 6/6.15ish start time within the last few months.
Why are you lieing about how great you've got it at your office? So strange, it's almost like you have some sort of agenda with your posts on here, although I can't work out what that would be other than trying to wind people up
