Started working for RM recently? what is your working schedule?
Have you started working for RM recently, if so - what are your hours per week and how many hours do you do each day?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Really annoys me these 5 hour day contracts they offer knowing full well it's impossible most days to complete the work given in 5 hours.kazardaimenu wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 15:32The new guys at ours say they are on 25hr a week contracts 5 days over 7 with Sundays rota’d.

Yeah RM take the piss. 30 hours is bad enough.

I started permanently in September though was temping before that. I’m on a 40-hour contract and work five days (Weds to Sunday), each day being 8hr 40mins long — eight hours’ work plus 40 mins of unpaid break. I have been doing 7.20 am until 4.00 pm since November, though before that I was doing 11.00 am until 7.40 pm (roughly the same hours I did originally as a temp - 12.00 noon till 7.45 pm). I do prefer the earlier start times.

If you say so. As an ex member of the workforce, why is it of any concern to you? Politely, why don’t you just mind your own business and confine your tiring posts to the Canteen section of the forum?

Like your tiring posts about who is allowed to post on here. I hadn't realised you had become the owner of the forum and can dictate who does what.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 19:19If you say so. Re: Started working for RM recently? what is your working schedule?
This is a thread seeking input from new joiners re their working hours — see the thread title. What constructive input to that subject can two ex members of the workforce provide?fb1969 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 19:38Like your tiring posts about who is allowed to post on here. Re: Started working for RM recently? what is your working schedule?
I can't see any admin requesting the thread stay on topic. It isn't "your" thread, so I repeat my question about whether you are the owner of the forum.
Carrying MGMT stated that the shift times are grim, you have since taken the thread off topic by dictating who can post on which section of the forum.

Ok, interesting....kazardaimenu wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 15:32The new guys at ours say they are on 25hr a week contracts 5 days over 7 with Sundays rota’d.
I was thinking maybe Royal Mail are hoping a massive amount of us existing staff on the previous contracts would leave and they'd recruit new starts on longer hours and lower pay to 'clear' the duties which have become 40 minutes bigger.
Expected people to say 40 hour contracts and 8 hour days....not 25 hour contracts lol.
I dunno wot RM are doing.

Re: Started working for RM recently? what is your working schedule?
You took the thread off topic and now you're telling me not to post at all. And I am not your "chum". Why don't you message an admin and tell them how you want them to run their forum.
To post from past knowledge (something you don't have) the situation norris9 describes is the way RM have always done business. When I joined most people had 30 hour contracts for what was then a 40 hour job.
