Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day items

As a result of a marketing campaign highlighting our Special Delivery Guaranteed (SDG) Next Day service, we may start to see more of these items in our network.

What does this mean for Delivery colleagues?
If an SDG item does not say ‘by 9am’ or ‘by 1pm’ they no longer need to break off from their core route or make arrangements with their manager when delivering SDG Next Day items.

In the past, all Special Delivery Guaranteed item labels have been marked as either for delivery by 9am or 1pm. However, the SDG Next Day service does not specify a delivery time on the label.

Delivery colleagues should please:
Be aware that SDG items that do not have a time specified on the label can be delivered on the core route and there is no need to break off to deliver them

Continue to deliver items marked ‘Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am or 1pm’ by the time shown on the label – and understand that they may still need to break off their core route or make arrangements with their line manager if they have one of these items.

Great a step in the right direction but as far I can see it's only available to business customers, let's hope it's rolled out to anyone to buy either online, on the app or in a post office.

But it should be a complete replacement for the 1pm product which has been outdated for years with later start/finish times and increasing delivery spans -

You can see where he is coming from though, we have more than enough on our hands at the moment.
Why not standardise it and make all of them next day guaranteed, not timed.

The 9am ones are a joke, the times I’ve been out with them knowing that the business won’t be open until 9.

The vast majority dont need the item by 1pm. They just want it delivered next day or want it sent special due to the added security/compensation.

if the 1pm SD is being kept it should be at an even higher premium than this new SD - its completely outdated and adds so much more labour

Isn't that what Tracked 24 and the L.A.Ts are? Guaranteed next day. With full tracking, photo and signature if required.
Not sure this NEW product offers anything different.

Tracked 24 arent guaranteed and can be left in safe place or with neighbour ( apart from passports )

They also dont have the same level of compensation/insurance

1PM should die and yes, 9am should be 10am because of the sheer amount of businesses that don't open til 0900 on the dot.

By the lack of mention, I assume the 12PM specials are a thing of the past?
