Come on. If you want me to provide every news article, I can. Royal Mail are releasing these figures. It isn’t being made up by Sky or anyone else.

Hopefully, they will be able to retain the staff because regardless of automation Royal Mail is still very much a people-driven business. But have no fear about the company's balance sheet - that war chest is still very much there!

You need to be able to separate Royal Mail from IDS. Yes, they do indeed have an abundance of funds, but RM is massively impacting on their bottom line. Any business will look to either reform or remove the element that is costing it money. It won’t blindly throw money at it in the hope things change. It will initiate the change.

One possibility is that they might transfer the parcels/Tracked/SD side of RM over to GLS and then hand over RM to the government

Well this thread has pretty much gone off topic so I might as well throw my opinion in, my way of thinking is that for as long as they want to lose at least one day of delivering mail they're going to continue to report doom and gloom losses, yeah I know a pretty simple theory.

I’m not sure if I qualify as a ‘pro RM’ folk club member, but at least I am actually employed by the company I am posting about. How about you? You ‘couldn’t wait to leave’ apparently, but still linger around these forums. Perhaps pining for the job you couldn’t handle, or regretting your choice? I’d have a bit more respect for you if you just admit it. We might be able to get you back in if you do.

That’s the nicest thing anyone has said to me for a while I think you will find that I agree with a lot of what people post here. I am just a bit more pragmatic than some.
