Re: New start times
We have this currently and if they get done in their time the PT books some overtime and the FT leaves early. Managers just make up the rules as they go along…

Re: New start times
To be fair to the CWU that all sounds promising but the devil will be in the detail (the actual start times) on Monday morning.qwerty2 wrote: ↑16 Feb 2024, 19:25The WONDERFUL union have spoken

Re: New start times
Some people live in cities where traffic is so horrendous they are talking about setting off normal time and sitting around for an hour rather than risk being late every day stuck in a car or bus. Stating an hour later doesn't mean setting off an hour later will still get you to work on time. That's only retarded upper management thinking . They don't live in the real world.

Re: New start times
Half hour later the lorry coming to ours would at least double the time he takes as the rush hour will be at its peak

FT and PT are supposed to finish at same time for years
Park and loop FT and PT working together in your office? How the hell do you finish at different times??

We need most of the PT duties to be full time but the higher ups won’t allow it. They certainly want sacked. These people couldn’t manage one day in delivery.

Most of the traffic chaos is caused by people taking their kids to schoolWullie10 wrote: ↑17 Feb 2024, 05:39Some people live in cities where traffic is so horrendous they are talking about setting off normal time and sitting around for an hour rather than risk being late every day stuck in a car or bus. When the schools are off - clear roads
Lazy people taking their lazy kids to school
I used to walk to school there and back - in another town!!

Re: New start times
It's happened in my office for years. A part timer and a full timer work together, the part timer carries on on overtime until we've finished. But now we don't have any shared van duties anyway.

Surely the reason for the later start is because the work isnt arriving till later than currently
So that surely means the post will be at the office at the normal time....
No idea how these people sort their IPS when there will only be a few on them in the office?
and also....if it is confirmed the parents who have kids to pick up from school can start at their normal times.... what is the actual reason why the rest of us have to start later?....
to annoy us and make us quit so they can replace us with cheaper labour?

Re: New start times
What about the many offices where there is no parking and staff park their cars in side streets ,finding a space at some of these offices is bad enough as it is without starting later and competing with people who work for decent employers. I accept the fact that they are not obliged to provide parking but the point stands. I wonder how many of these muppets that think this is a good idea will be working Saturday, I anticipate a big jump in the number of resignations.Wullie10 wrote: ↑17 Feb 2024, 05:39Some people live in cities where traffic is so horrendous they are talking about setting off normal time and sitting around for an hour rather than risk being late every day stuck in a car or bus. Thought park and loop was standard in every office?Kesknight wrote: ↑17 Feb 2024, 12:22It's happened in my office for years. A part timer and a full timer work together, the part timer carries on on overtime until we've finished. But now we don't have any shared van duties anyway.
