Parcel email notifications

Post by jimmynailsalive »

Are they gubbed at the moment, I got a parcel last week and no email to say was being delivered or one confirming delivered?

Noticed a couple of people on the local village Facebook asking if anyone has received their parcel from RM and they didn't get email either albeit postie should have probably stuck card thro telling them it was with neighbour?

You don’t get emails for every single parcel

Never knew that, thought all tracks with photos would email you a notification, the surprising thing with mine was it was an Amazon package via RM and first thing I can remember buying from Amazon and not getting an email telling me it was delivered?

My scanner rebooted three times the other morning. My bet is the system isn’t running at optimal sped right now. Upon the third reboot, told my manager and he said not to bother scanning all the parcels again, so I am betting no notifications were received for those.

The pda's are probably going the same way as the previous model, iirc they used to kick you out of the outdoor app and you had to log back in, I'm guessing it's that many apps forced running in the background that there's not enough ram to cope with running the app we actually require to do the job, last week mine was practically running in slow motion when going from one screen to the next, it takes noticeably longer just to take a photo of a parcel, try taking one in the dark so it triggers the flash, it takes ages.

Twice this week (and it's Tuesday) we've scanned all our parcels, sent to cloud then been told by a manager "you didn't scan your parcels" when we returned. By "us" I mean everyone in the row I'm working in. Do managers not understand that if you have to tell every single staff member they've made the same error that the error is probably the system? Seems not

PDA helpdesk had a pre- "you're in a queue" warning about ongoing manifest issues a few days ago saying to hang up if that's your issue, and certain popups have been not showing up randomly, like 9am specials and stuff. It's likely related.

Royal Mail should do the public a favour and themselves a massive PR boost by not sending notifications or correspondence to people.

The amount of folk who are being scammed due to messages purporting to be from RM on the back of these notifications is off the scale.

By publicly stating they will no longer send “unsolicited” correspondence they remove scammers ability to con our customers out of money under the company name.

Any official parcel alerts could be done through the official app only accessed by the user themselves.
