I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I just wonder what these people go home to and tell their families.

Does a royal mail manager actually tell them the truth about what they are doing? I wonder how they will explain it in five years time when most of them will be unrequired excess baggage to this corrupt company.

Ofcom’s research shows that people want to get what they pay for.
I never would have guessed this! How many people did you need to ask to learn that people want value for money on things they buy? Oh wait...
Yonder Consulting surveyed for Ofcom a nationally representative sample of 2,024 UK adults aged 16+ in October and November 2023.

Ofcom Residential Postal Tracker 2022-23 – Jigsaw surveyed a nationally representative sample of 5,664 UK users of the postal service between August 2022 and June 2023.
So with a population in the UK of nearly 68,000,000 people you asked... 7,688 total. So 99.99% were not asked...

Ofcom: Universal postal service must modernise
Extract;
"Ofcom’s research shows that people want to get what they pay for. But people are not currently getting a reliable service because of Royal Mail’s recent poor performance, for which Ofcom fined the company £5.6m last year. We will continue to hold Royal Mail to account and expect it to turn things around as a matter of urgency."

So what actually does turn things around mean?

1. Improving on the % of delivery targets reached from last year. Would that mean RM would still be fined if it did not attain the set percentages.

2. Attain the targets set by Ofcom.
(Edit) Or the opposite - The delivery service deteriorates even further.

Ofcom used the word "Unexplained" in their statement, haven't worked that one out either.;

13 November 2023
Royal Mail fined £5.6m for missing delivery

"This means that Royal Mail breached its obligations by failing to meet its targets by a significant and unexplained margin. This caused considerable harm to customers, and Royal Mail took insufficient steps to try and prevent this failure."
