Free Collections Extended Again!

The only issue I have with collections is when a customer leaves a parcel, that we have the label for, in a safe place. I mean, are you covered just removing property from a house? I’ve had ‘parcels’ left in just the items box for returns, and it feels weird just taking them.

I don't see the problem....though.....

I have gone to houses to do a collection and they leave it on the porch with other parcels to collect by other companies. Usually it is obvious which ones I have to take, but it could easily cause confusion and I am sure it has probably happened plenty of times before.... a postie picks up a parcel that wasn't for collection. This is especially an issue when we have the label and are therefore picking up parcels with no label.

I went to a house once with a parcel on the doorstep which was from Royal Mail to that address....I had the label.... but I decided to not take that parcel as for all I knew it could have been delivered that day by a parcel driver.....the next day the customer asked why I did not take it....

probably because you didn't scribble out your address or leave a note on the parcel.

I've never had that. What idiotic customer doesn't box something up..... don't collect something that isn't properly packaged. It's probably an option on the PDA.

I have someone who regularly has collections and loosely cellotapes their own paper label onto the parcel...then leave it out over night in the freezing cold and when I go to collect it the label is falling off....

not much common sense.

I have a worse one than that. One guy just gave me a piece of paper and told me I should have bought him an envelope to put it in as well as the label. I told him we don’t provide envelopes but he was adamant that we did even though I’m the duty holder. Had to double check with the manager as I was certain he was going to complain.
