I believe it is going to be something, but based on GLS profits.

If a company as badly run as this makes a dividend, there’s something seriously wrong .Strong bull wrote: ↑07 Jan 2024, 18:48
Why? Many employees have shares The bigger dividend the better.

Correct chicken, unless we have had an unprecedented Christmas, and all of a sudden the money is available for a dividend payout this year. Although in hindsight this money should be ploughed back into the business we can all see that massive investments are needed in the company, and maybe a tad more increase in our wages April, for achieving this outcome!

Completely agree. A lot of posties held on to their shares (and bought more) and didn't run and cash them in at the first opportunity. They deserve any dividend that might be payable.

Re: Shares 2024
IDS Group will issue the 3rd quarter figures on 8th of Feb and there might be a hint about a full year dividend in that announcement.
It appears that GLS is still profitable but that Royal Mail is still loss making, although losses have now been much reduced and my guess is that IDS will pay a token dividend in August from the profits generated by GLS.
Royal Mail should come into profit in 2024/25 and then real meaningful twice yearly dividends can resume.

Re: Shares 2024
Why didn't people sell their shares during Covid, during the obvious all time high? Especially how we all saw the way the company was going. £5.91 it went up to....

It would be more prudent if they invested the money in some new vehicles.

Re: Shares 2024
there will be some dividend paid out, nobody can predict the future otherwise we all would be investing,
some people are willing to buy shares in any company on the hope they will at least return a tax free profit and sell them later if they do rise in price to what they think is at peak and think they will drop again
i know a few lads at work who bought several £100 worth when they plummeted to £1odd

Yes it's all very easy with hindsight. The lowest price they've been was 119p when we should have all been buying and the highest was 631p when we should have been selling.
The third quarter figures were brought forward and came out last week, there was no talk of a dividend but my prediction remains the same.

Re: Shares 2024
Before any future dividend is paid, a profit share must be given to the employees. It’s in the recent agreement is it not?
