The clocks changing every year is primarily due to the impact of limited winter daylight in Scotland.
Other way around. DST is due to an overabundance of daylight during summer nights. Winter is standard time.
The machine stops.

“The full list of start and finish times for every office will be issued in February. At this point the exemptions process will also open”

^ that will be all the favourites getting exempted then.
Everyone should apply for an exemption, no-one has any special rights over and above everyone else.

There have been family friendly options in Royal Mail for a long time. I have no problem with parents who need to get done by a certain time being exempted, or anyone with a good reason. It depends on the situation. Wanting to get home early to play XBox or something shouldn’t count, for example. As long as they work the same hours I couldn’t care less.

Move on. It’s not healthy.
16 years I was in the job (quit for a Mon-Fri and better money.)

Sequenced trays make about 5min difference in prep time for someone who's prepped a frame for more than a fortnight.

I still post on here because I know the majority of good people at RM are better than the utter shitshow it has become.

I have moved on. I'm physically and mentally healthier than I have been since 2007, so thanks for your concern. :chuckle
But yet your daily postings to the forum and your general obsession with RM show you definitely haven’t moved on. You still love Roy, don’t you? You should return to him asap - of the new “shitey” contracts is surely a small price to pay! Would be great to have such an experienced pair of feet back. If anyone can steady this sinking ship… :dance
LMAO. Okay then. Did you forget to switch profiles?

Enjoy your Saturday and Sunday shifts this week for just above minimum wage pay
Switch profiles?

You are prone to exaggeration, pal. £14.60 an hour is well above NMW (£10.42 per hour). I’m no good at working out percentages, but it’s way more than NMW however you look at it. Today I earned £173 working one of my rest days. I’m more than happy with what I earn, thanks. How much do YOU earn an hour in your new role, and what is your new role? We’re all itching to know! Roy misses you and still loves you, and he says he will have you backk — but on his terms :Boo hoo!
It's £14.58 for London not £14.60. And that's the new contracts. I'm still on here as I m a shop steward at DWP. So I like to see what's happening in other work places, especially at one I know so well. You sound a bit of a wind up merchant but if that's your thing then crack on. :thumbup
Although the ad did indeed advertise the job at £14.58 per hour, my payslip actually pays it at £14.61. To corroborate what I’m saying, here is a screenshot of my payslip. Please advise who is right, you or me? Looking at the attached payslip, what is the hourly rate? Why am I a wind-up merchant? PS: I’m not in London either.B531B605-FA3C-4E64-853C-38EB523CA143.jpeg
That's 14.58 per hour though. The :56 is 56 minutes, not .56 of an hour. Makes the difference

You are right, I am wrong. Running the calculation on 56 minutes rather than .56 of an hour does indeed equate to precisely £14.58 per hour. Maths has never been a real strength of mine!

Im trying to understand our revised times...

People on the old 30 hour contract are starting 30 minutes later than posties on the new 30 hour contract. But both finish at the same time.

I don't understand why the new contracts are ostensibly working 2 and half hours extra per week.

Can anyone yone explain it for me?

Also, new contract staff who do overtime in the morning have to start 10mins before old 37 full-time staff. Is this an extra break, they're getting at the beginning on the day, as the 20min break is factored into finishing time?

Is it that both get paid for 30 hours, for old that's 30 hours paid including breaks, for the new it's 30 hours paid plus their unpaid breaks.

Yes that's it. Thanks.
