Royal mail scandal
Hi all
Just listening to the postal scandal and if you were one of the thousands who were at royal mail when pegasus or geo route was used for the new delivery method and struggled with the new rounds, watching staff get bullied and harassed by management, sickness levels rise, I'll health retirements rise, rise in warnings from management for staff failings etc, do you think this should be looked into just to prove the really went out to screw us over and how we would get listened too

How to get listened to? Probably would need a tv drama series.

Re: Royal mail scandal
Nobody seemed to listen to the poor people at the PO until the TV drama was aired, now even the PM has got involved and the CBE has been handed back. If somebody hadn't take the trouble to produce the drama nothing would have been done.

Considering most of the general public consider PO/RM as the same thing.
Maybe they'll take notice of the s**t show running the place.

Re: Royal mail scandal
I think one day they might look back on a great company that ran for over 500 years and then was stripped and destroyed in less than ten. Trouble is by the time people look back we will just be another Amazon who happens to deliver letters a couple of times a week. It will be way too late.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: Royal mail scandal
Where is this “Royal Mail scandal”? I’ve done 20++ years and tbh first 10 was stealing living and since then I’ve worked the hours I’ve been asked, sometimes for the better some for the worse. Get a reality check, take a year out go get a proper job and see what work actually is

Re: Royal mail scandal
Madness, everything that's been brung to the fore about the Post Office™ scandal since the TV drama. Where was the uproar at the time?
Utterly scandalous behaviour by these individuals.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Royal mail scandal
I think if the definition of a scandal is being given too much work and being bullied by management Netflix would be rammed full of documentaries about almost every employer in the world.
It's the world of work, in and out of RM, it's s**t but it is what it is and while the country continues to vote for the kind of people who enable and encourage it you kind of collectively get what you deserve
These PO people were prosecuted, put in jail and bankrupted by lies and dodgy software. Some of them took their own lives while those at the top pissed themselves laughing and made themselves rich. That's a scandal.
.
Time for a reality check guys.

Re: Royal mail scandal
Now that Royal Mail is privatised, its job is to make as much money as possible and deliver returns to its investors. Delivery spans have increased from three and a half hours to around five hours plus and fewer posties are doing more work than ever before. Increased automation is driving many of the changes as the RM board seek further detrimental changes to our terms and conditions with less sick pay, later shift times and flexible and Sunday working.
And In my opinion it doesn't really matter who you vote for because Keir Starmer appears to be on the side of capitalism. His objectives have noticeably changed from the start of his tenure of having socialist ideals about the common ownership of rail, mail, energy and water to one of having a genuine partnership working with businesses and trade unions for the national interest.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
