Christmas Day & Boxing Day fell on my days off ?

Morning folks just asking Christmas Day(Monday)and Boxing Day(Tuesday) fell on my days off schedule , should I get OT if I prefer or days in Lou for both these days ? Many thanks for any help on this matter

Not true. I got paid for my rest day falling on Boxing Day last week.

sorry, but the cwu have never ever helped me when it comes to this situation, they are shocking seeing has you ask before/during/after the event and always did nothing and had to fight my own cause, been happening years too

I flagged this with one of the managers at my place in early December, as I had wanted to have the two Christmas lieu days this week (first week of Jan) so I could combine them with my usual rest days to give me a four-day break. I was told this wouldn’t be possible and that it would instead be automatically credited as annual leave entitlement. Lo and behold, my leave entitlement hasn’t been increased in the app! But I then heard a different manager today telling somebody else in a similar situation to myself (new contract, same rest days, same lieu days owed) they could have 16 hours’ overtime instead. I may end up just having it as overtime to save all the faff but I would have preferred them as lieu days tbh.

i got told anyone who had day off scheduled for nyd and either on leave or sick the whole week then no credit or extra pay, you lose it completely, took nearly 40hrs off me this week and no credit

Common practice I'm afraid for our rather poor "management" they always used to prefer to allocate leave in lieu knowing full well that whenever you request to take it the answer will more than often be a flat no, in fact it's a bit of a result in itself that yours acknowledge that it's possible to be paid as though you've performed overtime instead, ours used to pretend they weren't aware of such an option.

In our MC we just have a sheet to sign with 2 options get paid for it or day back, and normally one of the managers will remind you of it just incase you did not know, or forgot to sign it.

Is that not the same everywhere or is it MC/DO dependent?
