Thursday was even lighter than Wednesday.
I collected a total of 3 letters from 5 boxes so I can't see the rest of the week being any different.

Last year it was dead for about 3 months after Christmas, can only see it being quieter this year with the state of people’s finances.

Depends if a General Election gets called. I believe that one legally must be held by the end of 2024 but it's anyone's guess as to if one will end up getting called earlier. It was really quiet during Xmas pressure compared with last year. Nowhere near as many casuals in each night, there was no need for them. I think they could have got away with not using Xmas casuals and just using more Angard instead.

We have the managers trying to find the agency guys work. A surefire sign that Xmas is well and truly over. We were short-staffed well before Xmas though so it will be interesting to see who is being kept on.

Technically the last possible date for the next general election is 28th January 2025.
Realistically, it'll be sometime in 2024.

Adding all those poll cards and election leaflets onto the Christmas workload would be fun!!

Only postal votes come through as letters in envelopes in my area. Normal poll cards are loose and to be manually sorted on the IPS.

That must be a local thing then as we have delivered polling cards for local and general elections for as long as I can remember. If you mean election promotional material, then yeah, that has definitely dried up.

Some send them via RM, some make their own arrangements.

Not sure who had the contract to deliver them but the people delivering them were being paid a lot more than us to deliver them

I have delivered Poll cards directly for the council before about 20 years ago. It was 10p per card back then, was a good earner as I mainly did tower blocks.
