I think the last week was touch and go in ours, but we might have just made it for the full whack.

No one will have got the full £500 as to do so EVERY last DO and MC had to clear every day (all shifts). That is something that was never, ever going to happen in a million years

Whole thing was a scam from the start, most offices failed their targets based on mail centre performance if you actually look

At least some DOs will have gotten some of it. Very likely every MC got f**k all as for us we had to clear on all shifts and also all the DOs in our area also had to clear as well.heraldmoth wrote: ↑27 Dec 2023, 09:34Whole thing was a scam from the start, most offices failed their targets based on mail centre performance if you actually look

Sounds like the same scam in reverse, we fail because of mail centres and they fail because of delivery, thought it was based on individual unit performance?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑27 Dec 2023, 09:40At least some DOs will have gotten some of it. This is what I believe. So after a couple of weeks I will send this thread to an acquaintance of mine who works at a national newspaper and see if they would run a piece on it.

Yes, sorry I didn’t word that correctly. I meant the full £250. £500 was never attainable from the start.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑27 Dec 2023, 09:16No one will have got the full £500 as to do so EVERY last DO and MC had to clear every day (all shifts). Yeah the mail centre was responsible for us nearly missing our target last week. You are still reliant on those above you not messing up.heraldmoth wrote: ↑27 Dec 2023, 09:34Whole thing was a scam from the start, most offices failed their targets based on mail centre performance if you actually look

Re: The official (We got the £500/£250 bonus thread)
Our office failed the incentive bonus every week but it wasn't unexpected. We had a revision done by planners quite a few years ago and if that made some of the duties bigger, that was nothing compared to the imposed revisions earlier this year which extended the duties by another third.
It didn't make any sense because we were not getting everything delivered before the revisions. That wasn't entirely down to sick absence but more likely the COMs were fudging the figures claiming that most of the duties were being delivered and they weren't. Even if one loop went out on a full frame its being classed as a 'part delivered'. And rather than paying any overtime to get the duties delivered they preferred to leave the mail in the trays for the following day when it was expected that a postie would do two days worth of work in one day.
This often happened on a Saturday but ironically enough all the Tracked items were delivered from the previous day.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Yeah, we have had a few instances of waves being delivered to the wrong offices and having mail therefore arriving late.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑27 Dec 2023, 12:05Late arrival of the wave 2 lorry?LouBarlow wrote: ↑27 Dec 2023, 11:43Yes, sorry I didn’t word that correctly. Re: The official (We got the £500/£250 bonus thread)
I think it should have been explained to the press at the time they went running to them claiming they were giving us this fantastic £500, that half of it was unattainable, and the rest was mostly unattainable because of the various factors beyond any posties control lobbed in along with it so we couldn't get it.
But oh no just look how good we are and if they don't get the bonus it's not our fault, they are lazy and overpaid anyway.
The proper thing to do is to just give us all the £250 and forget the rest.

Re: The official (We got the £500/£250 bonus thread)
Think the union should be pushing Royal Mail for every office to receive this mythical bonus . Seems totally unfair to me that some get it and some don’t when in most offices this was completely un achievable and out of our control.
