Yes, the MC got alot of arrivals on sat night which were processed, the SD locker got alot and there was a significant amount of letters & xmas cards.

It’s all sitting there waiting to go out wed 27th from 3:30am.

The only stuff that went out on xmas eve (sun) was the tracked 24 sunday deliveries.

We are open and processing tonight.

Anyway if you don’t get much in on wed morning you can all take the opportunity to clear the backlogs of D2D’s that i keep reading about on here, i shouldn’t hear about backlogged D2D’s until at least early Feb.

Merry Xmas :thumbup

Really pissed off ... having lost track of the days recently .... Thought we had another day off! :d'oh!

Wishful thinking, what sort of Company would give their hard working employees a whole week off AFTER Christmas? Certainly NOT Royal Mail.

How many of the Big Bosses will be showing their faces this week do you think? :cuppa

Good point Dorset.

Work traditionally drops off a cliff right after Xmas so you would think that this would be an ideal opportunity for Royal Mail to give its staff a week off. But they won't because otherwise the Xmas cards will build up.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

RM's hands are tied by the USO. In the past MC night shifts and DO night shifts would have to have started at 00:00 on the 27th, so some years would have only had 3 days off compared with 4 days off for other shifts, depending on what day of the week Xmas fell.

Yeah why give a s**t, I suspect it will be quiet, coupled with on Saturday the com was asking the usual early ips gang to start early, you know the ones who would have gone in yesterday to prep their d2ds if the doors weren't locked, oh yeah it's our longest attendance day as well.

Absolutely dead! And told job and knock is back for the rest of the week. Get the feeling that's a trap with lapsing walks from next week as a suprise for anyone that proves they can get round in plenty of time because I don't think it will be that much busier next week, not to fill the 2 hours some people went home early today
