Xmas cards have been massively down this year, CSS sequencing batches have generally been less than half the size they have been in previous years1560loopsayear wrote: ↑21 Dec 2023, 23:00There was a time (only a few years ago) when your manager used to tell encourage you to have one last push to clear all xmas cards before your last shift almost treating them like we do now for tracked. Unfortunately for you and for the public who you believe "have a right to leave it to the last minute" Royal Mail is no longer a public service along with all the inefficiency, Spanish practices and cushy little numbers that came with it.
Royal Mail is now a private company with a necessity to be efficient and financially viable.

That's an interesting position to adopt, although not entirely original, I expect that's exactly what all the hundreds of thousands of employees of the UK motor manufacturing industry also said in the 1970's whilst being lead by the nose by their Marxist unions.sweepster70 wrote: ↑26 Dec 2023, 16:59Mike G wrote: ↑26 Dec 2023, 16:56Unfortunately for you and for the public who you believe "have a right to leave it to the last minute" Royal Mail is no longer a public service along with all the inefficiency, Spanish practices and cushy little numbers that came with it.

Remind me again how scoffing at the notion of being efficient and financially viable worked out for them...
