I once had a peaked hat with RM badge, it got stolen many years ago and I've not seen any since.

The old red polos were such good quality that I still wear mine now despite them being a tad pink. No wear, no shrinkage. The recent ones are a travesty. The logo falls off after a couple of washes.
Ditto. I've had mine 10 years and they're still alrite. The new ones are tat.

There's loads of RM uniform on eBay. Just searching for "royal mail" brings up 541 results, not all of them will actually be RM uniform but that's a lot to be on eBay.

Lots of new uniform items up for sale - each one a potential security incident waiting to happen. If you're going to flog your newly issued jacket, maybe cut the barcoded label off it before you get implicated in a subsequent crime.

Imagine spending every day over Christmas, offending random strangers on an internet forum, dedicated to a job you don’t even do any more?

I thought he was a bit weird before, now I just feel sorry for him. I guess he will be spending NYE on here too.

I loved the old uniform, the hairy trousers that would tickle ya legs until they’d been washed a few times, the blazer, I used to wear my all the time, get on the bus for free if going to or from your walk. The winter jacket which you could unzip the arms to make it into a body warmer, as things go, that picture of the uniform is what we should be wearing now, not this bloody horrible red polo shirts. And bring back the blue dust jackets as mine is on its last legs too, please.

Was that when there were some kind of sorting machines in the old Sorting Offices? I've seen photos from the GPO days. I assume around the time of Single Daily Delivery the processing all got concentrated in the mail centres.
