Blue Shirts
I am referring to the old uniform. Its so sad to see our blue shirts replaced with the red polo shirts or even worse the red shirts. Maybe someone designing the new uniform pressed a wrong button on computer keyboard. I long for our blue shirts to be reintroduced. They look smart and the public like them. Me being an old school postie would love to have the old Royal Mail tie back again.

Re: Blue Shirts
Yes to all the above. When I saw the promotional photo of the new uniform I wanted to retch. I never liked the red fleece and grey trousers, though they look reasonably professional in hindsight - professionalism being the thing they seem to be most interested in jettisoning from the job.Stav2 wrote: ↑22 Dec 2023, 17:51I am referring to the old uniform. I actually still own everything in that photo.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

That uniform and bag look so good. The red bags I’ve been using recently are a disgrace, I am ashamed to use them.

Re: Blue Shirts
I've got loads of the blue shirts as I started ordering them when pictures of the new uniform were released. Nice and cool in the summer. I've got quite a few pairs of the old style grey shorts too.
I just need to make them last god knows how long now.

Re: Blue Shirts
The old red polos were such good quality that I still wear mine now despite them being a tad pink. No wear, no shrinkage. The recent ones are a travesty. The logo falls off after a couple of washes.

Re: Blue Shirts
Yep the new ones stink and shrink.
Bring back the cotton, bin the polyester. In fact the only improvement with the new uniform is the waterproof leggings. They are spot on. Shorts and trousers would have got an 8 out of 10 if the sizes were not so random, but I guess you get what you pay for, so it's a 6. Stormproof jackets are the worst ever regarding waterproofing. Score of 5, but that's only because the hood is actually a hood instead of a 3 quarter hood like the old ones.

Re: Blue Shirts
The new red shirts look cheap and look as if they are inside out due to the stitching. Have to say the base layers and the gillet are great for keeping warm but there a few posties who look an absolute tit wearing base layer pants underneath the shorts.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
