I'm currently off sick for a couple of month (doctors orders) manager hasn't specified if he wants to keep in touch while I'm off, I'm not arsed if he does or not but is there anything in the sick pay agreement etc that you need to keep in touch with royal mail while you are off? Thanks

Your manager will soon let you know if he does want you to keep in contact. They would have to send you a letter first to let you know if you were ever at risk of having your pay stopped too.

If you've just handed a 2 month sick line/"fit note" then your managers literally don't give a flying f*ck if you're going to live or die.

Once a month or so has passed, I guarantee you'll start getting aggressively hassled into coming back early.

When the office does ring I’d suggest making it a painful experience from their end, ask dopey questions, waste time looking for letters from the doc (while making a cuppa in the background) order uniform, book holidays etc etc make them not want to ring u

You have to remain in contact, meaning answer the phone if manager calls or face 2 face meeting if well enough and at a location of your choice.Otherwise, they will stop pay.
Don’t hurry back or feel obliged to serve the master when the threat’s start and remember,only you know how well you feel.

And don't forget when you do become well enough to go back on a rehab plan the second you walk, limp or crawl through the door your manager and most colleagues will be of the opinion there's nothing wrong with you.
