November last year since we saw one. It turned up for approx six minutes at a picket line to grab a photo with a local councillor, not been seen or heard from since.

While I appreciate the modicum of effort to communicate to the membership, I can't see myself listening to this almost exactly a year since the last strike day. The dominant perception on the shop floor is that it's a lost cause, so why engage?

Our area rep works in mc so cannot fault him actually quite decent.

Good question and the fact you have even have ask speaks volumes. Ward, Furey and the likes of Walsh and the CWU Postal Executive buried the largest example of industrial scale victimisation since the miners strike through the Falconer Review. Falconer himself stood on the opposing side during that defining struggle but that did not stop the CWU and ex-TUC boss Brendan Barber from appointing him in sole charge.

Of the 400 or so dismissals and suspensions originally reported around 200 cases were referred. Of those 26 re-dismissals 21 were overturned by cases which went directly before Falconer but here is the rub even though found to be unfair dismissals nobody in management held responsible but reinstatement was conditional on reps accepting a reduced sanction! The other option was financial settlement to leave and both "options" based upon a waiver of rights to an ET . This approach was then applied to the Collective Agreement to all 125 other dismissals and 67 cases short of dismissal including suspensions - reps and other members have to accept they were the guilty party as management walked away scot-free. This in the words of the CWU is "justice" . After announcing this "victory" on November 10 you will see that the CWU has reported around 3 cases of reps returning this week if there are anymore I'm sure they will trumpet it. They were left behind and have now been thrown to the wolves this is an attack on them and every postal workers right to representation.

As with the rest of the BRTG&A this is a shameful surrender by the top table.

Sounds great! Hopefully the postie has taken that part of the delivery frame that day, otherwise the will be a "sorry Mr COM, I was unable to attend that part of my walk today due to 80% of the walks in the office being unachievable"

Yeah fine if they plan to reduce the walks and hire more people but if not are we leaving more mail in so we can pursue this caper?

Was very vague with no substance. As it been since this 'expansion of postal role' was first mentioned.
